Midwest Center is a scam-DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!! They are vultures preying on people with anxiety.

My story is similar to a lot of the others on here.

When I was talking on the phone to order the product, the salesman made it sound like I was buying a trial offer cd for $14.95. There was no mention to me of a $500 + charge if I hadn't returned the program within 30 days. If there was, as the lady handling my complaint mentioned, it was done while he was reading a script at a fast pace at the end of the conversation when he made it sound like he just had to read a legal script for formality sake. I was hesitant to buy it even though I had made the call and he assured me that I would be making a mistake not to. Obviously had I recognized that the price was excessively high, I wouldn't have agreed to it. If you check the Midwest website, you are hard pressed to find the cost other than misleading ads for $14.95. At any rate, I got the package, never opened it but noticed that on my credit card statements that the Midwest Center was charging me $69 a month. When I called to find out why they said because I never sent the program back. I told them that I had not opened it and would gladly send it back to them. They said it was too late and past the 30 day trial period. I asked them what obligated me to buy the $500 + program and they said within the box is an invoice which clearly states that if not sent back within 30 days you will be charged $500 +--well, it does but in fine print.

On legal ground, I probably have little to stand on-However, from an ethical standpoint the company is atrocious-bloodsuckers that aren't upfront. Their whole sales pitch is targeted at getting you to buy and quickly or else..your anxiety will cripple you. They prey on peoples fears and sense of urgency. The cost is  unclear and quickly read over the phone (if it was at all)to the point of being misleading. In fact, the whole program was misleading. When you phone to incredulously exclaim why you are being charged this amount-they explain in a no-nonsense matter of fact tone, hiding behind legal jargon, that you agreed to it in the fine print. Had they any sense of integrity they would have said listen, send back the product in tact (as I had not opened it) and we'll just charge you for the initial month or stop charging your credit card as of now. Nope! the attitude was we're legally entitled to so tough luck. The people on the other end of the line obviously had experience with these sort of complaints and were in no mood to REALLY try and help. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!
