I purchased what was advertised to me as a kids safe all around family pony, I went to see the pony and my 2 yr. old was put on her back, with no problem, Lisa Wallace said she is great for kids, after I got the horse home she was a totally different horse, so I think she may have been drugged, not sure, she is not a kids safe family horse. After contacting Lisa Wallace, leaving messaes, I finally got her on the phone and she said she couldn't believe it and she would come see her, she has since not returned any of my messages and I don't know how she sleeps at night knowing she sold this horse to a family with 3 kids that she said would be completely safe. I have offered in my messages to trade for a true broke horse and that I would even pay a little more for it even though I paid full asking price for the pony I did purchase!

I purchased a mare from Lisa in Sept. Of '08.
My mare is exactly what Lisa represented her to be.
She is a darling of a horse and I will not hesitate to visit Lisa in the future while horse shopping.
I love my Clydesdale, thank you Lisa!

I was shocked in reading this absurd supposed "rip-off" report!! I work for Lisa and was there the day this woman bought the pony that supposedly "ENDANGERED" her children. I had been riding that particular pony for several months before, and she was absolutely PERFECT. There was NOTHING wrong with her. I rode her down the trail and through the mountains bareback with only a halter and lead rope. She was in fact, what they like to call "kids safe." Now, that doesn't mean you turn your 2 year old child loose on a pony, or any horse, or unpredictable animal for that matter. It is completely unethical for someone to buy a pony for their YOUNG children, to turn them loose with it and expect it to babysit them. If that were the case, this woman had no business buying a horse to begin with. Every experienced horse person knows that no matter how gentle a horse is, it is still an unpredictable animal. Small children have the tendancy to send out wrong signals, making the animal confused or frusterated. So if this woman didn't have enough common sense to stay with her children and encourage proper riding skills, I would have to say, I have no sympathy for her or her children.
I have gotten several horses from Lisa, at the Lucky L Ranch. Each and every one was exactly what she told me they were. I know SEVERAL other people that will say that for her as well. She is VERY honest and VERY CARING. She would NEVER endanger a child. These accusations are utterly ridiculous!
As far as the "drugging" accusations go;
I have worked at the Lucky L Ranch for approx. 4 years now, and we have NEVER had to use any sedatives, or tranquilizers, unless it was for veterinary or medical purposes. The Idea of drugging a horse just to sell it makes my stomach turn, and I know for a FACT that Lisa would NEVER approve of it. Especially when it involves a 2 year old child. Too many scandalous "horse traders" out there use this method of "salesmanship," and too many times, have we seen people get seriously injured! We feel for those who get scammed in this manner, however, The Lucky L Ranch doesn't need to utilize tranquilizers or sedatives as a method to make an animal perform acceptably. We spend too many hours working to be discredited like this!
All in all, the fact of the matter is that you simply should not turn your children loose on an unpredictable animal. It is this woman's own idiocy that caused this mess. She should have had enough common sense to actually stay with her children while they were riding, to ensure that they aren't harmed. ESPECIALLY with a two year old. Now in reading this, I hope this woman will question her parenting skills, instead of passing the blame off on others.

I met Lisa when I got a horse from her a couple of years ago. I have known Lisa as a very savy horse person and very honest. I truely find this report difficult to believe. I have also met many people since then that have also gotten horses from her and have been perfectly happy, with no problems what so ever.
When I purchased the horse from Lisa, she did advise me to let the horse "settle in" before riding it. She suggested a week, at the least. She also suggested I have a large enough stall for the horse, as many horses do get "edgy" in small stalls. Since I had told her I had small grandchildren, she also told me it would be best to make certain the kids did not "rush" the horse, you know, run in to pet it. She said to introduce them slowly to the horse, one at a time, as after all, horses can spook when they are fearful. I found out even the best trained and gentle horses can spook when in strange surroundings. So, may I ask the person who got this horse, did you take any of these precautions?
Maybe in the future when you are looking for a horse, you should go back to try the horse more than once. I also want to suggest that maybe you try to call Lisa one more time and see what she is willing to do, but be nice when you call, as I have found you do catch more flys with honey than vinegar.
