My Mom and Dad went car shopping and went to several car
dealerships and finally found a car to fit their budget
and family use. Well they spoke to the owner Cindy who
explained to them that their company had a very good
reputation with the community and that their vehicles
are checked out and given a safety approval by their
certified mechanics.

There wasn't any reason to doubt their honesty and the professional opinion of their mechanics. Well, first of all a local advertisement group here in the area called BEST DEALS,local free paper, put out the ad for the dealership, 93 Mercury Tracer etc., when the owner,Cindy, wrote out the receipt she put down 93 Mercury tracer, and printed it on another document.

The BEST DEALS next issue printed the same 93 Mercury Tracer again after my parents took it home. After finalizing the sale late in the evening, we arrived
home and my dad said there was a strange smell, he looked
under the hood and couldn't see much because it was to
dark. The next day my dad started the car and looked
under the hood and noticed a leak from the front of the
engine, so he took it to a Motorist Assured facility to
have the car checked out.

He paid $19.99 for a complete inspection with emphasis on the leak. A certified ASE Master mechanic looked at the car, spoke to the store manager and another mechanic, he wrote down other notes and recommendations on the checklist.

After the mechanic was done with his recommendations, he
spoke with my dad, my dad turned a beet red color called
my mom and told her about 1.Water pump failure 2.Right
front half shaft boot ripped 3.Brake pads worn to 1/32
4.Mid to inner tread wear 2/32 to 0/32 on three of the
tires 5.Intermitant brake light failing. My dad went to get a second opinion from 2 other ASE certified mechanics and came up with the same conclusion about the honesty of that business and their representatives.

The amount to correct these safety violations came to
$800.00 and that didn't include the extra cost of electrical diagnostics of the electrical system for the brake light problem. My Dad called the local BBB, and they said he shouldn't have taken their word for it. My dad called the Transportation Safety in Washington D.C. and they took notes about the business and my dads problem. All in all he called the business to let Cindy know about the safety problems of this vehicle and she agreed to cover the cost of labor and half the cost of the parts.

When my dad went to drop the car off in the middle of the day 5 minutes after he spoke with her, the gate to the lot was locked up and no one was to be seen. My dad left the car at the front gate. Later my dad and Cindy spoke
and she said that my dad's mechanics didn't know what they
where talking about, she had the nerve to call my dad's
mechanics "OVERNIGHT MECHANICS" well long story short they
did nothing to fix the problems other than putting alum-seal in the radiator. Now I was told that is the Shade-

Tree mechanics way of fixing a leak and decieving the customer. I tried to get a hold of Best Deals to let them know about false advertising, I forgot to mention, that Cindy put the correct year of the vehicle on the temp tag that was put on the rear window "1988" Will someone please help me try to get a hold of Best Deals to warn them about the deception.

Love my Mom and Dad
