On or about April of 2013, my husband and I contracted with Lumber Liquidators to purchase and install new hardwood floors in our studio alcove apartment. Ryan from "Palermo Floors who they contract with to do the installations" came to measure. We discussed the issue that there was parkay tiles underneath the carpeting as well as the disposing of the debris since we live in a building. We were told that they would "Cart" the debris away and not to worry.

On the date of installation, we were told that the measurement were off by 200 or so sq ft and that we needed to give them an additional 300.00. On top of that we were then informed that we needed to give them an extra 400.00 so they can dispose of the trash in their cart.

From what I have come to learn, since Palermo Floors contracts out through lumber liquidators, they are installing floors at a reduced rate. They normally charge a much higher rate for installation. I can only assume that the whole issue with being off on measurments and extra fees on the back end are done so they can recoup the additional money they lose by installing through lumber liquidators.

When my husabnd confronted Palermo about this we were told too bad and that if we didn't like it they will bring back the trash and leave it on our front lawn.. I am outraged at the level of customer service. People should be careful.
