Luv Homes - Vanderbilt Mortage ripoff left my family homeless Cannonsburg Kentucky
in may 2006 my husband and i started the application process with luv homes/vanderbilt mortage to purchase a used mobile home.we have less than perfect credit so we really didn't expect to get approved. but a few days later bob hallmark from luv homes called back and said we had been approved with a 1500.00 down payment.we were suprised and overjoyed since our home of the past 9 years was really old(A 79 model) and we already had one little girl who was four and another baby on the way.
I called bob back and told him we could do the down payment but it would have to be 1000.00 today and the other 500.00 in two weeks. he said it was fine no problem. so the two weeks come and we were also having to sell our old home to have room for the new one and to get the rest of the money for the down payment. anyways we took him the money, he hafd our paperwork ready to be signed. we signed the papers and were given an account number, due date, and delivery date of two days.so we came home called the buyers of our old home and told them they could finally move our old home out that we would have ours in two days. they moved it the next day, then the day after bob calls to say our loan may not go through due to not having my husbands previous employment records.
I was upset because i thought all this was already taken care of before we signed the papers, but i asked him what he needed and he said a statement of any kind faxed to him from his previous empoyer. so i called his previous employer and finally got them to fax him a statement and called bob back only to have him say this was not good enough now he is interested in the job before that one in which my husbands immediate superviser had passed away and we didn't even know if the company was still in business, but i however contacted h&r block and had them fax the w2 papers from that company. guess what? still wasn't good enough he wanted my entire tax returns from 2005, so i sent them from h&r block as well.still not good enough needed other w2 papers that i could not find, but i found last pay stub that had the same year to date information on it that he said he needed and i faxed that to him,and was not good enough. he said the papers i had sent to him looked fraudelent. yeah tax papers from h&r block looked fraudelent.
I explained to him once again that he had never mentioned a problem before we signed the papers and that now me and my family were homeless. this went on for weeks needing this paper and that paper until i couldn't find the stuff from 4 or 5 years ago and he told us on 06-12-06 that there was absolutely nothing else he could do for us and he had another buyer for the home and we were to come immediately to pick up our refund check if we wanted it. so when i picked up the check on 06-12-06 it had been printed for 06-01-06 in which my personal opinion is when they sold the home to someone else for a higher price. as of today 07-05-06 my family and i are still homeless only living with family members who have room for us. i have never been homeless in my 30 years here on earth and i never expected my children to be. if i would have expected any kind of problems i would have never sold our old home. all i can say is i hope bob hallmark and the people at vanderbilt mortgage sleep really well at night in their own homes because they caused my family to be without a home!!! good luck to all of you fighting with vanderbilt mortage, i am going to pursue this as far as i can, i just don't have the money for big lawyer fees.
