I would like to inform you of an issue in which I had with a Used Car Dealership in Lexington, SC name Luxury Cars

of Lexington. I went over to Luxury Used Cars of Lexington and purchased a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. The sales

manager Tony said that the car was inspected over and all cars are inspected before the car come on their car lot,

this statement was a big decision in me purchasing the vehicle. Before I purchased the vehicle he said he was going

to get the middle console fixed, then when I went to pick up the vehicle, he told me he couldn’t fix it because it

would mess up things and I need to have it professionally done and he took off $500 of the down payment.

So after about a week I noticed the back door handles was coming off when you pull them, so I called Tony the

sales manager and told him this, he told me he would have one of his guys take a look at it, but he did not have

any onsite body technicians for his business. After going out their multiple times and not being able to get in touch

with them or his technicians who can fix the car I asked him when the handles can be fixed. He seems to keep

blowing me off.

So after noticing the door handles need fixed, I noticed the back passenger side window do not come down, so

after noticing this, I took the car to the Cadillac Dealership to have a 172 inspection done to ensure the safety of

the vehicle before my family rides in it. So after getting the 172 point inspection, numerous things turned up, like

the brakes need replacing and both motor mounts need to be replaced along with other issues which amounts to

around $4,000 worth of work needed for the vehicle. The vehicle was sold for the price of an excellent condition

model and year which it was not in excellent condition with all the work needed.

The next thing that I did was contact Tony the sales manager to tell him of all the issue in which the 172 point

inspection discovered, but he was not in his office and he seemed to be the only one who can talk to these

issues. After about 5 days of trying to get in contact which him, I had to have the financing company, Professional

Financial Services to contact him in which, they were finally able to track him down and setup up a time to talk

about the issues I had with the car.

Eventually I was finally able to sit down and talk about the issues with the Escalade, but he set in his office and

said he was not obligated to do anything for me and he will give me the number to his guys who can rate me for

what they charge him, so pretty much he was telling me I was on my on about getting the safety issue fixed for

the vehicle, so I told him he can just take the vehicle back because I only had it for two weeks and he then told me

he don’t do returns. And also Profession Financial Services, the finance company was telling me I was stuck with

the vehicle and I haven’t even made one payment yet and If I gave it to them, it would be like a repossession and

go against my credit. So now I’m going through other means to find a solution to this issue by writing to you and

searching for legal advice.

I feel like used car dealerships should not be able to do this to individuals who are making a large purchase, this

is unethical for you to make oral claims that you have did an inspection on your cars and you have not completed

a full inspection. No one should have to go through this type of issues. We need to have similar laws against used

car dealerships like other states that have recently passed laws against used car dealers who use unethical sales

practices.

Inspection

#6General Comment

Ok so they TOLD you that they had "inspected" the vehicle. That in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM states that they fixed any problems they found DURING that inspection. An inspection is a "look over". They drive it, they see if its leaking any fluids, they let it run on idle for about 30 mins, if the vehicle looks newish and it drives fine and its not leaking anything, then BAM on the lot it goes. YOU have the right to have ANY vehicle inspected BEFORE you purchase it. THAT is where you screwed YOU!!! And as for the whole freedom of speech, I know at this point that you either just DID NOT pay attention in civics 101 or you never went. Yes, you do have the right to say whatever you want. BUT!!!! That right also means that YOU are accountable for what you say. You cant have your cake and eat it too. If you yell fire in a crowded area, then YOU would be legally liable for any damages or deaths that occur from your freedom of speech. The same thing holds true on the web. Since the web IS a media outlet, ANYTHING you post is subject to the very same laws that printed puiblications MUST follow. That means that if you "say" slanderous and defaming online, YOU can be held accountable. You may be under the impression that you are anonymous online. That's as far from true as can possible be!! EVERYTHING you do online is logged somehow and somewhere. All it takes is a court order and they would have PROOF it was YOU who made that post. I warn you of this, because I empathize with your situation and I really would hate to see YOUR life get screwed over even more all because YOUR ignorance of the law. Maybe instead of lashing out and acting out you could be a bit more adult about the situation all the way around. Not only here but with the situation you are dealing with. YOU purchased a used vehicle AS IS. No one at the dealership or the finance company "forced" your hands into signing the paperwork that you did not read. Neither the dealership or the finance company is legally responsible for ANY problems past what was agreed to at the initial purchase. You, as an adult, have to accept this fact. You can fight it and lose, or embrace it and win. Any problems PAST the initial purchase date are on you and THEY WILL NOT ASSIST YOU!!!! You have to understand, that no matter how much you whine and complain, be it here or at the dealership is going to change REALITY. Ok we get it, you bought a high end vehicle and have to drop some money into it. But you KNEW this going in so it wasn't a surprise to you. Get over it and move on. You are attempting to hold THEM accountable when THEY ARE NOT LEGALLY LIABLE!!! And in this great nation, THAT is what they benchmark on. WHAT THEY LEGALLY HAVE TO DO!! Youre not informing the web or the world of some great injustice. We all KNOW that buying a used vehicle is risky. YOU just don't either WANT to pay for the repairs or CANT. Either way, since YOU signed that paper agreeing to the purchase in a AS IS condition, THEY are LEGALLY obligated to do NOTHING for you. In the future I would suggest that you do all those events you did AFTER your purchase BEFORE your next purchase. We no longer live in a world that gives a d**n if YOU get screwed over, so long as it doesn't happen to them. Its the great American APATHY. We can thank our parents and grandparents for raising a society of sociopaths.

Being Told Full Inspection was Completed

Being told that a full inspection was completed word of mouth is not right, this was the main selling factor in me buying the vehicle, I see complaints against the dealership all over the net, so this practice is not just isolated to one person.

Word of Mouth Inspection Said Before Purchase

#6Author of original report

Fri, June 20, 2014

I was told from the sales manager out of his own mouth a complete inspection of the vehicle was completed which was the main reason and deciding factor for puchasing  the vehicle, if the sale manager would have been honest and said no inspection was done or what type of inspection was done than the entire process would have been completely different and no purchase would have been made, telling someone a complete inspection was done when it wasn't and then saying their not obligated to do anything without being completely upfront is unethical. Now refusing to help with anything just goes to show what type of issue this is, i see plenty of reviews of this company online now similar to my complaint, so this is a recurring ordeal i see. The solultion to the issue need to be resolve and the sales manager know what is needed. The finance company has talk with the sales manager and from my understand it up to the sales manager to agree on the solution so the ball is in his court. One more thing, the internet is free speech.

AS IS!!

#6General Comment

Fri, June 20, 2014

Seems pretty cut and dry. YOU purchased a USED vehicle. ALL used vehicles are AS IS. Which means that unless you got a "We Owe" slip from the dealership, then your report is useless. And REALLY youre going to complain about 4 grand in fixes on a Cadillac ESCALADE??? When you take a caddy to a dealership for JUST a oil change they charge upwards of $1500. I would say count yourself lucky that you got a USED escalade at a halfway decent price and ONLY have to put in roughly 4G. One would assume that YOU the buyer would have been smarter about this entire purchase since AS IS MEANS AS IS!!! You KNEW what you were getting yourself into when you walked into a USED CAR DEALERSHIP!!! You cant NOW turn around and whine on the web about it. Im also thinking YOU are expecting "fair" out of this. Well you can expect all you like, it aint gonna happen. Once you signed that piece of paper in all of the paperwork YOU just signed away on, the piece of paper that states and im roughly paraphrasing here..."I the hereby undersigned understand that the vehicle I am purchasing is purchased AS IS and the dealership is held to no liability after I have purchased it". When you signed that paper, you pretty much screwed yourself BECAUSE YOU DID NOT READ WHAT YOU WERE SIGNING!! Everything that YOU have done after the sale are things you SHOULD have done before the purchase. You cant NOW complain about it because you agreed to it. Oh and becareful.....what you are doing online can cost you. Since YOU have placed your opinions as fact in this post, you have given them the right to go after you in a civil proceeding.
