I received a email stating that I have purchased a Novia 8800 Cell phone for $774.99, and my credit card purchase through pay pal the transaction charge will say PAYPAL LWPELECTRONICS. I never purchased any product from this company, I disputed the claim of the charges. Is there anyonethat can tell me what else I can do?

Several others have reported this same email in the last day or two.

Without seeing the actual message it is hard to say, but it sounds like a phishing expedition. The scammer, posing as Paypal, sends you an email reporting an attempted fraud. There is a link in the email for you to click on so you can check the status of your Paypal account. You click on the link and login. But it is not Paypal and you have just supplied the scammer with your userid and password.

If you have a Paypal account you need to login on the real Paypal site. Verify that your password still works and that there has been no fraudulent activity. Then change your password.
