Lynn says on her website that kittens go home around 12 weeks either spayed or neutered. I put a $300 deposit on a kitten from Lynn when it was about 4 weeks old. At 9 weeks old she emailed me saying I could pick up the kitten early if I agreed to have it neutered by 6 months of age. When I asked her if there would be a discount on the sale price of $850 since she wouldn't be paying the expense she said "no". I responded that I chose her as a breeder because the cost included neuter.

A week later we happened to be in Salisbury for a religious convention. I decided that since the drive was 2.5 hours I would contact her to ask about taking her up on the offer to take the kitten unneutered. She emailed me at 10 am saying she would be leaving at 1 pm. I responded that since my convention wasn't over until nearly 5 that it was a missed opportunity.

A few weeks later my mom's horse died. I felt so bad for her that I said she could get the kitten I had put a deposit on. This was when the kitten was 12 weeks old. I emailed Lynn asking if the kitten had an appointment to be neutered. She responded that the kitten would be neutered [when it was 13.5 weeks old] and I could pick it up after [when the kitten was 14 weeks old]. I explained the entire situation and that my mom would be visiting from NH a week prior to that. She was completely inflexible and expressed that she was irritated that I hadn't picked up the cat when I was in Salisbury. She claimed to have called me several times, I never received a phone call from Lynn. Not once.

I decided to pass on this kitten at this point because it was nearly 4 months old, hardly a kitten and my husband had lost his job. She doesn't keep her promise to neuter at 3 lbs or 12 weeks.

I contacted her 2 months later to inquire about using my non-refundable deposit toward a future kitten. She wrote a very nasty email back saying I forfeited my deposit and she was not willing to do so. I informed her that there was no contract and she should either return my deposit or allow me to apply it to a future kitten. At this point she claims I owe HER $50 because she could only sell the half grown kitten I had deposited on for $500! Nobody wanted to pay $850 for a 14 week old kitten, and that's her fault. I told her my lawyer would be contacting her with a Demand Letter.

Buying a ragdoll is a luxury, and one worth it to me and my family.  I'm now glad I didn't waste any more of my money on this woman's cats.  I already have a ragdoll I bought from Angela at Velvetrags http://www.velvetrags.com/ and her facebook page https://www.facebook.com/velvetragsragdolls/ you can see I left Angela a 5 star rating. If you want a high quality ragdoll from a high quality person, please contact Angela! I'm going to get on her waiting list now.

Erin, doesn't post all the emails or the phone calls between us. She called and emailed SEVERAL times pleading to pick up the kitten early. As the email she posted says, I said, I MAY CONSIDER and IF I DO, No where does it say I would or come get your kitten early. I told her he would be neutered before going home and that's exactly what I did, before he went to his new home. As most breeders know and deal with people like her, they want you to bend your policies for them and then get upset when you don't. She couldn't wait 2 more weeks for him to be neutered and then pick him up. I still don't know if she changed her mind because she didn't have the money or she wanted a younger unaltered kitten. Either way she should have paid the $850, picked him up at 13 weeks when he would have been ready, end of story. She emailed me yesterday: Hi Lynn, am I able to use the deposit I paid you last year toward a future kitten? I may be able to pay the remainder with my tax return this year. Again, it sounds like she's not financially ready to purchase a kitten from me, so why go threw it all over again. She knew she wouldn't get her deposit back, when she made the decision not to pick him up and its obvious, as she didn't ask for it back in her own email, when she said I hope he finds another home. Breeders Beware of Erin Rivera as she will waste your time and energy, when you could be spending it finding a responsible and caring family for your babies.

Hi Erin, you're little kitty is growing so fast and is so full of energy. He's a little fireball running all over the house chasing me. I just love him. I'm concerning letting him leave at 10 weeks old so he'll have time to settle into your home before Christmas. Hes getting very attached to me since he's the only kitten. If I do let him go, you'll have to show proof of his neuter before 6 months of age. Here are some pics I took today. Enjoy, Lynn

I also sent an email explaining why I couldn't take the kitten 15 days PRIOR to his neuter surgery as a COURTESY in case she wanted to keep him as a breeder (as she often does) or sell him to another customer. Attached are emails from Lynn proving shes a liar. If she lies here, she lies to her customers. Terrible breeder and business person. Don't trust her.

Breeders Beware

Erin Rivera put a deposit on a kitten at 4 weeks of age. I kept in contact every week with updated pics and info on how the kitten was doing. MANY times she wanted to pick the kitten up early and I refused as ALL pet kittens are spayed/neutered before going home around 12 weeks of age. She knew this before putting a deposit down and threw out the weeks he was growing up. She constantly asked how she could get the kitten cheaper and not have him neutered. From one week to the next I had no idea what she was going to do, as one week she would say she lost health insurance on her kids and couldn't afford the kitten.

Then the next week she'd ask , could she pick him up early. I gave Erin a date of when she could pick up the kitten, AFTER HE WAS NEUTERED and the week she was suppose to pick him up, emailed me and said she was not going to be able to get the kitten, no explanation of why. It seems she wanted a cheaper, unaltered, younger kitten. She kept this kitten reserved for almost 9 weeks and then backed out. Deposits are nonrefundable for this very reason. To bad people like this can post bad reviews on business owners.
