The following is the e-mail I sent to Lynn Smith Chevrolet. Hope this deters anyone from buying a vehicle from here. I would also like to let you know that Lynn Smith marks up their used cars by about 60% higher than what they gave on a trade and they will mark your trade 60% lower than its worth.

Internet Department and Mangers:

Story:
I would like to talk about my recent experience at Lynn Smith Chevrolet. I was contacted by the internet department several times over the course of a two week period by Tyrell Vickers and Sean Fields. Tyrell had been following up on some recent e-mails about my Truck search. I had given him my requirements and price range (At or Below 12K), so that he could call me when something was available. This week Tyrell called me several times asking me to come out and visit because he had several used trucks on the lot that fit my needs. One in particular was a blue truck offered at $14K on the net, that he said would definitely be able to work in my asking range of (12K). Tyrell e-mailed the pictures of the truck and I became very Interested. I decided to drive out there from Keller (1.5hr away in traffic). I had an appointment with Sean Fields and we went to the Cleburne lot. I was particularly interested in the Silver F-150 Flareside XLT (17K internet) which there was no negotiation at all so I looked at the blue truck Tyrell talked to me about. My last offer was 12K and 3K for my trade. Sean told me no way and offered $14500 and $1500 for my trade( Way over value). I explained to Sean that your internet sales person "Tyrell" specifically said he could work $12K. Well he told me he was sorry, but he couldn't help and that Tyrell should never make a quote on the price of a vehicle. I became very angry and told Sean that this is not right, to lure a customer on the vision of making a deal and then to back out and I did not appreciate it at all.

Sean Fields did not act at all in a professional manner from the beginning. Several times he told me to go because he was not going to make a deal on the truck. I was also low balled on my trade which had already been appraised by several dealers for $3000.

To make the long story short, I drove a mile up the road to Liberty Ford and bought a 2001 XLT Flareside w/55K miles perfect condition loaded for $12200 and $3250 for my trade. I guess I was meant to be there rather than Lynn Smith.

I just wanted to say thanks to Sean for being rude and not working with me because I had the opportunity to go to the dealership that had the customer in mind. Oh and by the way, try to make a deal by using Kelly Blue Book on both the truck you plan to sell and the customers trade. That's fair, not like what Sean did using rough condition black book values on a trade and Kelly Blue Book on his truck.

I plan to write up a scam report on the net, so don't be surprised that your name is associated with a scam when searched.

Thanks,

Eli
