Complaint Review: M. Alfonso - Reportage RGA

Guy approaches me in the parking lot asking If I knew how to speak italian or spanish. he asked me if i would take his merchandise valued at over $4,000 us dollars for free.

He declared that he works as a clothes designer in italy and has received a package of merchandise that he cannot take back home on the plane. he also mentioned that he had just gambled away over $25,000 and doe not have any money to return the rental vehicle.

He provides me with his passport, plane ticket and invoice for rental vehicle and asks me to help him pay his rental and he will pay me back at a later time. he asked that i provide my name and number on a piece of paper and he will call me back with instrcutions on how I can get my money back from him.

He gave me a bag with 2 leather jackets and one sueded jacket for free. This character was very believable and some part of me did indeed doubt him. I offered to pay his rental bill with my credit card, he refused and stated that it must be done in person at LAX. I went to a nearby ATM and providsed him with $160.00. He asked that i take his merchandise and I refused to out of the kindness within me to help this poor guy out. He refused to accept my decline for the merchandise and grabbed his bag of RGA jackets and put them in my car. He grabbed me and tried to hug me and was very thankful for the kindness i expressed to him. When i got home, the doubt took prescedece and I began to do an infamous google search... It was all FRAUD!!! It still will not detract me from being kind to the less fortunate, but i learned to be a bit more perceptive when being approached by complete strangers. Beware, it appears this mob is working everywhere!!!!
