Complaint Review: M & M Tool & Machinery

I bought a dewalt shear from a salesman at M & M tool and machinery. I was concerned that the model number which I had been looking for had an "R" after it. After questioning the sales clerk he informed me that it was recondition from the factory. "It comes with a full warranty just like any other new tool" he told me. I enquired if I could return it if I had any problems with it. He again said any problem with it in the first 30 days return it to the store for a full refund.

Well after two weeks it stopped working. Back to the store I went. I looked for the sales clerk that originally sold it to me. Another sales helper pressed to help me. I told him of my problem with the tool and he began to write up a repair ticket. I told him I did not want the tool and that I was returning it for a full refund like the original sales clerk had promised. He said no we just repair them.

I said I don't care if you do but I will have my money back. I asked to speak to the owner. To which he replied "I am the owner". Because I insisted on a refund he got mad and said he would not now repair it and was going to put it out in the street for me to take with me when I leave. He walked it out the door and put it on the sidewalk and told me I should read the warranty that was on the side of the box. I walked out of the store, picked up the box with the tool, and left.

I took his advice and read the warranty in the box. The warranty clearly stated that the tool had a one year warranty PLUS a 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee. Obviously the store owner hadn't read the warranty, but wasn't willing to live up to it anyway.
