On February 26, 2011, I purchased a Volkswagen Jetta GLX VR6 Blue for my wife from Sebastian Gajewski of M & S Auto Sales.  He lives in Blakeslee, Pa where I bought the car at his house.  A two days after we purchased the car (February 28, 2011) it would not start come to find out it needed a new battery.  A few days later (March 6, 2011) my wife is driving home in the pouring down rain and the cars dashboard instrument panels were going haywire then the car shut off.

I met her to jump start the car it ran for a few seconds then shut off.  I then had the car towed to my mechanic for the past few years who is ASE certified.  I told him what was happening and that the car also had to get a state inspection.

He informed me the car needed an alternator and upon performing the state inspection that the car had a broken water pump, the drive belt (which had been squealing) was shredding and that engine oil had been leaking into the
coolant reservoir.

After those repairs I had the coolant system flushed by a mechanic who has a special flush machine to flush the entire system (referred by my mechanic).  I then took the car back to my mechanic on March 17, 2011, because of a check  engine light that was on.  The diagnostic computer gave off seven (7) different codes and the engine oil that was flushed out of the coolant system had returned.

After several test on the car my mechanic found that the head gasket was blown and both my mechanic and the other ASE Certified mechanic concluded that some sort of head gasket sealant was present in the coolant reservoir tank.  Meaning the head gasket had to be faulty prior to the purchase of the car in which the dealer never mentioned a problem
of sort.

I tried several times on each occasion to reach the dealer to no avail. The only time he returned my call was when the battery died two (2) days after purchasing the vehicle.  He never returned any of my calls as per the other issues with the car.

Purchase price:  $3,500.00

Repair Cost:

Battery - $82.00

Alternator, drive belt, water pump, Pa State inspection and labor - $951.98

Coolant System Flush - $85.41
