Complaint Review: M2 Construction

I had an issue in a complex that I own and got bids from a series of different contractors that had advertisements in the paper. Decided on a guy named Mike Diaz and Mickey Lovato from M2 Construction because he came in the lowest and at first seemed like he knew how to manage the job. I was pretty confident he could get some guys together and handle the job even my wife thought he seemed like a straight shooter. Not the case folks. First dont pay him any amount up front he can be pretty sincere but dont go for it. The more you give him the less work he will do. Next expect that cost will go up and new estimates will be given as he get more involved with the project. I have worked with a bunch of contractors in past and should have just followed my gut. By the way, be warned, I asked him for some referrals up front and he will just give you buddies that he knows that will just give you want you want to hear. I am a fair and reasonable guy over 60 years old and have dealt with different contractors for over 30 years but his bunch are just cons. Comment on work and timeline and hell dodge you, ask him about prices going up above estimate and he will just threaten to walk off the job (w. your deposit!). Anyway to other people out there be warned! I have never reviewed a contractor before but felt like I should let other people in salt lake city and Utah be warned before they get connected and end up like I did.
