well i had a minor wreck on a monday morning here in dekalb county,ga and boy did that shake me up cause it couldve been avoid if only i hadve seen the big pole at walmar in front of me, so anyway after getting over the initial shock of things i went home and  observed the full damage and as to how i was gonna recover from this, so i knew i had to either disregard it and let the car sit, sell the car, or get it fixed, and with the lil monies i had been saving over the years i decided to take it MAACO, i just felt that this was the right place to go since im always seeing their commercials and the low prices they offer, especially the sells....but anyway i slept if off that day 2/7/11 to think things over completely and by tuesday morning 2/8/11 i decided to take a drive to MAACO in tucker because i called and a lady told me that they were still doing the $249 special, so when i arrived there in tucker,ga i was met by ROMELL,(at the time i thought he was the owner) and he say my car and full extent of the minor damages and i told him i just wanted the car painted and he said your gonna get your car painted even with the doors/side view mirror being dented and ripped off, i said yes, cause i told him i couldnt afford to spend big money, so he said look how bout this i will paint your whole car knock all your dents out ur driver door, replace the left front bumper, the right side mirror and ford front grill for a lil over 780$ and i thought that was great and so i came back later and brought my car to them that afternoon and his worker JIM dropped me off at the busline to get me back home and no one including the owner never called my house once to let me know what was going on with my car, during the week that my car was there, i was the one inquiring about  what process was being made on my car and my last verbal conversation with romell he stated that my car would be ready that monday2/14/11.okay so i was patient and when monday came i called around 3pm and romell said they will start painting my car that same day and that i can pick up tomorrow and i asked him are you gonna call me to let me know to come down there?he said yes and when tuesday got there, i gots no call at all,  dam i was heated, so wednesday finally came 2/16/11  and i called to the shop early that morning around 8:30am and romell answered and i told him im coming to pick up my car regardless if theyre through or not cause i dont like the way they dont communicate with me and he said to me ' oh your car is ready,it was ready yesterday', i told him you shouldve called me yesterday and said to come get it , so anyway i gots on the marta bus  and met him near tuckers walmart where the bus stop is and him and his driver picked me up and took me back to their MAACO and as we were driving i ask him am i go be happy with the work you all done, he said maybe a lil and i looked at him like he was crazy then he said he was playin, so once at MAACO i waited for my car to come around for about 15 minutes and dont you know when i first seen my car that there was white spray paint on all four of my tires and when i opened my car door i had specs of paint on my floors, seats, brakes and gas petal, side doors, man i was about to snap and kick some butt i told them they best to get this s**t off my car and tires before they be buying me another car, i realized then that i had made one of the biggest mistakes of my life and that MAACO is a terrible place to take you car to and that i would not refer anyone to any MAACO ever, ever, ever! I paid for my services and then took my car home and looked at it for a few days and noticed that there were white paint on both side view mirrors from the car paint job and so when i showed up that same week on friday 2/18/11 the owner happened to be there and i was being snubbed off like i was a nobody so i started loud talking and saying in front of other customers that i would never come here again not even under my paint warranty because they do crackhead work and that i want this dam paint of my side mirrors today! i said i paid money to get my car service just like the rest of these people standing in your shop, so he got someone to wipe it off, but now the ever going problem is that the left side view mirrow is becoming detatchec from the car in slow paces, its very noticeable when you look at it and the owner explained to me on 2/23/11 when i took it to him to calmly talk about a resolution(before i involve the news media/lawyers)that well he see what is wrong with it and that they dont fix the inside of the car and the broken part of my side mirror is missing parts where the screws are to go, and that he will order that for me to make it fit firmly to the car like it should and i showed him my front ford grill sign and how part of it comes unattatched while im driving and i have to push it back into place and im dam pissed about that cause all these parts that are messing up i purchased them new,now if by monday 2/28/11 he dont have his order with no progress then imma still keep it moving with the media and lawyers, cause these people shouldnt be in business with there fake award plaques and  entry level painters who it seem like they hired at the labor pool or home depot while shopping.

I took my car to the MAACO franchise in my home town of Frederick MD I didnt opt for the $249 special they advertise because like the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I paid just under $2,000 for them to paint my car and needless to say the car looked better before they touched it then it does now. Within a year after they painted it the clearcoat started flaking off like nail polish you can clearly see sanding marks under the paint and most of my emblems are loose where they didnt reattach them correctly. I dont think the shop I went to is still a MAACO franchise, probably due to numerous complaints, but last I checked they are still operating under a new name most likely they are just an independant shop now but anyone in the Frederick,Maryalnd area do yourself a favor and stay away from them, you would be better off using the money spent having MAACO do the work as toilet paper then to pay them a dime.

You get what you pay for

In response to the rebuttal about the repairs you received. I myself run a direct repair shop for a major insurance company. I have managed Maaco stores in the past. It does sound like a lack of communication. The paint on the tires is from not covering the tires properly with wheel covers prior to painting. But to do all of the repairs you mentioned and paint the entire car for $780.00 was in fact a cheap price. We charge a  starting price of $5000.00 just to paint an entire car. That does not include any body work.

People fail to realize the true operating costs of a shop as well as the costs of materials, parts, and labor to do the correct repair. Maaco charges way less but they do not disassemble trim parts and handles the way a pro shop does unless you choose the insurance method which they do in fact offer. You sound like the typical customer wanting everything for nothing. That's a two thousand dollar repair all day long and that's just to spot repair from the looks of your pictures. Blowing up on people will get you no where. If Maaco was not around, you would still have a wrecked car because you didn't have the money to fix it right in the first place.

So be glad that you got all that you did for what you were charged. Dirt specs are an imperfection from repair in the paint finish. It would require what is known as color sand and buff after repairs had been made. Something most pro shops know happens in the paint process and is taken care of during final clean up. It is not offered in a $249.00 paint service. You people crack me up when you make complaints about someone trying to save you some money. That's what Maaco is all about. Just don't expect top of the line when you don't get charged for it. That's like paying Motel 6 rates for a luxury motel room. Not happening.

Did you ever hear the old saying "you get what you pay for"? This is a perfect example. Why not just have insurance?
It would have been done right.

Anyone who would even consider painting a car without fixing the body damage is a total moron. Why would you even waste your money? And, if you pay close attention to the MAACO ad, the operative word is "from". From $249.
The $249 is actually if you do all of the prep and repairs yourself. All they do is paint for $249.

They don't even prime your whole car before painting! They only prime repairs they actually do.They use the green scrub pads to "sand" your car and then they wipe it down with a tack cloth and blast it with paint. They hire anyone to paint cars at MAACO. I knew someone fresh out of prison with no painting experience.Hired!

By the looks of your car, it appears that it wasn't worth $780! Maybe you should go back to the third grade and get some basic English grammar skills, and some education so you can get a better job, and a better car, and some insurance!
