Maaco in Birmingham Alabama is just as bad as the other Maaco's Birmingham Alabama
I really wish I had researched before I let Maaco paint my car. At the time Maaco painted my car, it was worth about $1,500.00. Two years later, I would be lucky to get $500.00. The car looks horrible. Regular wax melted all the Maaco paint and left the car white. The hood paint has all oxidized. Long story short, they spray painted my car and did a half-a#s job at that. They over painted, left chips, lumps, etc.. The only correction they made was when the paint actually fell off at one point. The new painter said "I want to match it to the other badly painted areas."
How Maaco gets you? For 200 or 300, any judge or court will say you get what you pay for. For me, I was painting the car because I still wanted to ride in style without a car note. I can't continue to drive this car and I definitely do not want to pay over a thousand dollars to pay a car worth only about a $1,000.00.
In the future, before I ever trust a company to do anything that costs over $500.00, I definitely will do a ripoff search.

I looked around for a company to paint my f-150. I had 2500.00 worth of hail damage in 2003. I figured that a nationwide company would give the best warranty if I moved. Well the warranty was just a garantee, a garrantee that you'll never come back.
Well they offered me a 300.00 dollar paint job, I turned it down asking for the best they had. The owner then offered me a 1200.00 paint job. The signature series. Getting to the point, they switched paint namebrands in the middle of the process and the two whites did not match and I had some body work done.
They said they would have to charge me and add. 200.00 to coat the truck so the paint would not seep into the body work... Bullllllshiiii#$$@. It looked like a white truck (2001) with piss stains all over it.
then they oversprayed all over the black trim and on the grey grill. TO cover it up they used a black sharpie all over. Have you seen a black magic marker on something in the sun? It looks brown and purple.
Then they took paint remover to the grill. The prison work-release (so called technician) worker saw that it was pulling the white overspray off and the grey grill paint. I ended up with a grey grill and a black 5 inch smudge where he rubbed the paint to the factory base coat.
I complained politely at first, the only response I got from the owner was: If you wanted it done right I should have charged you 10,000.00 dollars. I told hime where he could stick that. Now I have that truck with dark tinted windows. I still have their paint job on it.
With white vinyl stickers on the window and expressed that Maaco had painted it and this is what you get for 1400.00 dollars... I drive it proudly. with all the paint descreptancies marked...
By the way I took the truck to my local for dealership. I will cost me a total of $7,850.00 to get it repaired..
I could have done better with a spray can.
