Complaint Review: Maaco

Took my van to be painted and got the better base coat, clear coat paint job. I had many tools and such in the van and asked if it would be ok. Carlos behind the counter smiled and nodded. I returned two weeks later and found many mistakes that they agreed to correct after the paint has a chance He eto dry more. Give it two weeks. I agreed and returned home with the van which I parked in a very secure carport area.

The next day I needed to replace my headlights on the van and went to get the neccary tools but was very disappointed to find no tools. Maaco was closed till Monday so I waited till then to call the mgr and report it. I called and Carlos said he will not be in today. I then called Tues. and he was there but did not answer. I got busy at my work and did not call again till the following week.  Again, the same telephone occourance. I then just left a message explaining what had happened. I got a call back in a few days after that saying he asked his workers if anyone had taken any tools and said they said no so he will do nothing. Of course they said no. He takes me for an idiot? I then returned my van the next weekend so they can repair their mistakes and a co-manager , named "Rick", said I am not welcome there any longer and he will call the police if I return again. Therefore they will not honor their warranty and will not investigate any stolen tools. They did not even ask what tools were stolen. I had to tell them what kind of tools since they were really not that interested anyway.

 Moral of the story, don't take your vehicle to Maaco at 2500 34th Street North St. Petersburg, FL. or you too will be ripped off and your warranty will not be honored. On top of that, you will receive poor workmanship. Oh yea, don't leave anything in your vehicle unless you really don't want it.
