Location: FOREST PARK, OH
My car was being worked on in the shop off and on. With owners permission and he was excited about adding new product installion options to offer future potential clients. He said that anywork done custom due to my car being done there would benefit him cause he would make money. My mustang has a custom paint job on it and people driving by would stop by to ck my car out. It was a attention getter. My doors were shaved off my 98 mustang gt in the shop. I purchased lambo door hinges that were to be put on my car. My hinges were in the shop until extra time could be put into putting them oN since this is a custom job not just a quick in and out paint job etc that they normally do. I went to pick my hinges up cause work had not been done. My box was found where it was placed by the gentalman that was going to do the work.

THE BOX WAS EMPTY NO HINGES AND NO STRUTS. JUST THE BOX AND INSTRUCTIONS LEFT. I CALLED POLICE IN AND A REPORT WAS FILED ALL I GOT FROM THE OWNER AS HE WALKED OUT WITH POLICE OFFICER WAS A SMILE AND HE LAUGHED. HANK SPOKE WITH OFFICER, BUT ALL I CAN DO IS FILE REPORT AND SEE IF THEY CAN FIND THE STOLLEN HINGES. OFFICER SAID IT DID NOT LOOK GOOD. THESE HINGES ARE EST VALUE OF $2000.00.. MAACO GOT A NEW PAIR OF LAMBO HINGES AND I GOT A SMILE AND LAUGH FROM OWNER....

I would just like to say that Hank Bucklin is NO LONGER THE OWNER of the Maaco on Northland Blvd in Forest Park. Mr. Bucklin has done a lot of people wrong and you were one of them. I would like to apologize in behalf of Maaco and imform everyone that this location is under new ownership. We are a family owned business and treat our customers and employees with respect and dignity. Please feel free to visit us on Northland Blvd. to see and experience the difference.

Don't bring your own parts.

Always have the shop "furnish and install" parts. You don't pay for them until they are on your car ready to go. If they were to disappear before then, it is not your problem.

Candy, it can't be as bad as you say.

What shop could stay in business unless they have a lot of satisfied customers? I've no doubt your hinges were stolen, maybe by a thieving employee, maybe by someone else. If there are a lot of thefts at this shop, I suggest you get your local ombudsman or investigative news people interested.

I own a small shop, and over the years have been accused of everything from vandalism to auto theft, none of which were even remotely true. I was a nice guy about it and didn't sue the accusers, but all business owners may not feel this way. The police know this often happens, that's most likely the reason the police didn't think much of your theft. Right now I have two customs car on the lot, owned by the same guy, and he wanted "extra security assurances." I told him to either take his cars home or he can sit up all night and watch them, but they are his cars. He left the cars.

FYI forest park police are at this shop on a weekly basis for stolen property that was taken off their premisses. Employees are also know to have stolen property after getting fired, leaving and or current employees. This same shop one of the employees had property stollen out of the shop about 3 weeks ago after another employee left. what is management doing nothing!!! and who suffers the people like myself who spend their hard earned money to by nice things...
