Took my Honda Accord to the Frederick MD franchise of MAACO to have the car repainted. Seen their advertised "$199.00" special on TV but figured you get what you pay for and $199 wont be a good paint job. So I checke the MAACO website and looked over the different levels of body/paint service which cost more depending on what you wanted. Long story short, I chose the PRESIDENTIAL paint service and it cost me just under $2,000 I figured it would be a better quality job at that price over the $199 advertised special. How wrong I was within a year the clearcoat started flaking off like nail polish you could see the sanding marks through the new paint. On the day I picked up the car they even messed up and put the Honda emblems on in the wrong place and had to remove them with a heat gun and reapply them in the correct place. Contacted MAACO corporate headquarters and they offered to contact Frederick, MD franchise owner to inspect my car. I told them no I didnt want them touching my car again they then said I still had a year left in the warranty on the paint job, but was prorated meaning I'd have to pay them to fix what they screwed up in the first place. Consequently it appears that this location is no longer a MAACO franchise, most likely due to MANY complaints against them but they appear to still be in business under another name with the same owners so anyone considering any kind of paint work/body work avoid this business like the plague.

If you think you can get a high quality paint job for $2,000 you are f****** high. MAACO is not a high end paint shop, its like the Jiffy Lube of body shops. For the price, I'm sure they did a fine job. If you want high end paint, you have to pay a premium.
