MAC Pageants knowingly allows a contestant that used a fraudulent introduction making false statements about herself and her volunteering to become Miss American Coed Teen Illinois. Patty Hawkins and Michael Galanes were provided proof of the false information and not only did not ban the woman from competing, but allowed her to win a title.

This is serious and I hope everyone that reads this understands that when we enter our daughters into any competition we expect the competitors to play by the rules. To be honest and uphold the moral standards that a role model is supposed to embody. With that said, last November after attending the national competition and listening to a contestant deliver this introduction “When my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, I began to live life to the fullest. I decided to become a 3 year high school graduate with the intention to attend Benedictine University to specialize in exotic animal training. Volunteering with Relay for Life and Brookfield Zoo keeps me focused on what’s TRULY important. Believing in miracles, from Illinois, I am ________________” Red flags immediately came to mind. BU and exotic animal training? 3 year graduate? With an education background, I am aware that most high schools in Illinois don’t offer a 3 year graduation track anymore, so out of curiosity I made a phone call to her high school Victor Andrews in Tinley Park (phone 708-342-5800). Low and behold they do not offer a 3 year graduation track. I then proceeded to look up Brookfield Zoo and called the two coordinators Regi (phone 708-688-8366) and Ashlei (phone 708-688-9858) only to find out that ______ has never volunteered there. I felt cheated. She had taken a Top 5 placement from honest contestants. She had also placed the year before in Top 5 at nationals with a similar introduction. This realization was sickening. I contacted a mom who was more familiar with the contestant that did the same “investigation” that I had and her results were the same. Since ________ had publicly posted all over Facebook she was done with pageants and was never competing again, I figured we would not cross paths again and there was no way she could cheat and win again. Sadly, she returned to the MAC Illinois pageant a week ago and everyone was waiting on pins and needles to find out if she would continue her charade. I couldn’t believe what she said, “When my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, I began to live life to the fullest. I decided to become a 3 year high school graduate with the intention to attend Benedictine University to specialize in exotic animal training. Volunteering with Relay for Life and Brookfield Zoo keeps me focused on what’s TRULY important. Believing in miracles, from Illinois, I am ______________” SERIOUSLY IT WAS THE SAME FABRICATED INTRO. You can watch it here. dropbox.com/s/hsd3l2m4q9iv6ge/Danielle%20K%20intro.MOV?dl=0 So before jumping to any conclusions I again went on the internet. If _______ was a 3 year high school graduate she would have graduated in May and Victor Andrews has a youtube video of the graduation. Not surprisingly she is not in the video because she did not graduate in 3 years. She is still in high school! The video of the graduation is hereyoutube.com/watch?v=fh06mxbNb0k So instead of assuming that she still hadn’t volunteered at Brookfield Zoo, I for a second time called them. Again I was told that ______ has not volunteered ever at their establishment. As for the Relay for Life, when I reached out to them at 1-800-227-2345 and spoke to Flor they do not show that she ever volunteered with them either.

At this point, text messages and phone calls began questioning how this young lady could win. Was her state director aware she cheated in November, and still put a crown on her head? Someone I trust has turned in all information to the state and national directors and now that it has been brought to their attention, what will they do about it? I am asking everyone to take a stand against cheating. Pageants should NOT be about who lies the best, or who can fabricate the biggest list of accomplishments, it should be about the best role model representing their system. FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS SHE TOOK A TOP 5 PLACEMENT AT NATIONALS FROM HONEST DESERVING YOUNG LADIES WITH AN INTRODUCTION THAT IS FABRICATED. If a contestant is proven to cheat and win, they should be stripped of their crown and banned from competing. Patty Hawkins should take action and make an example of her. After all she is a teen! Patty Hawkins I am asking that you look at the proof and do what is necessary to keep the integrity of your system alive. Making up an intro full of fabrications is cheating and undeserving of a crown. This young lady is supposed to be a role model for the younger divisions, what is she teaching them? You need to cheat to get a head in life. Not a lesson I want my daughter learning.

PATTY HAWKINS HUNG UP ON BROOKFIELD ZOO

#7Consumer Comment

Thu, August 06, 2015

So I reached out to Ashamed Madeline Schoppert yesterday via Facebook.  She made all types of allegations about letters being obtained under false pretense and photoshoped and when I stated I had them emailed direct to me and that was IMPOSSIBLE that I verified the IP address on the email and it traced back to the zoo she diverted stating that “I also have a signed letter from Danielle’s teacher that works for the Brookfield Zoo that confirms her volunteer hours for an event that benefited the Brookfield Zoo (where the teacher is a volunteer).”   After hearing this new story we contacted Brookfield Zoo.  (Remember we now have been told by Tyna that Danielle did use the same intro, then no Danielle didn't, but didn't mention Brookfield Zoo, (then when Tyna was given the introduction provided by one of us mothers at the pageant) her story changed to Danielle doesn't volunteer at Brookfiled Zoo but Paws, then the story changed to Danielle volunteers at Brookfield zoo at an outside event. Seriously this is INSANE.  When do the lies end.  The story has changed so many times, no one can keep it straight.  So Sondra Katzen public relations at Brookfield Zoo looked into this account.  According to Sondra, Victor J. Andrew High School does not have any teachers that volunteer there and there is no way Danielle ever volunteered at the zoo.  Sondra Katzen contacted Patty Hawkins at 10:12am on 8/6/2015 introduced herself and Patty Hawkins the national director hung up on her.  Sondra then called us back to inform us of the unprofessional behavior of the National Director.  ARE YOU ALL PAYING ATTENTION: PATTY HAWKINS HUNG UP ON THE BROOKFIELD ZOO.  IT IS OBVIOUS THAT PATTY HAWKINS DOES NOT WANT TO GET TO THE TRUTH.

Madeline also admitted that Danielle was not part of the Class of 2015 but has a letter from her principal that she will graduate in December making her part of the Class of 2016. So at this point we all should realize that Danielle did indeed lie in her introduction about 1. volunteering at Brookfield Zoo  2. Graduating in 3 years.  Neither of those are true.  As for Relay for Life, again they have a contribution donation for $125 and states that Danielle has not volunteered.

Also keep in mind that DK’s intros have stated that she educates guests on endangered species.  How in the world is that happening from school?  Don’t know where DK got a letter from an instructor (that doesn’t work/volunteer) at the zoo saying that she volunteered there.  Just another fabricated story by DK and her mom although Michael Galanes the Illinois state director did tell a mom from Illinois that he would "find a way to get lets from the organizations."  I guess they found a way to get a letter, but it isn't from the organization and the facts in the letter can not be verified.  This explains why MAC has not gone public with any of the “supporting” documentation.  In my opinion the only thing this supports is a cover up.

Yes the staff at MAC is "amazing" until you have issues. Then they want to cover up their mistakes and from what I have heard over the years there are several issues.  I guess I wonder how the mother of the first runner up feels about this situation?  As a matter of fact I know she's not happy. Any empathic person should put themselves in her shoes.  She put her daughter in MAC for the first time expecting that she was competing against a young lady that was honest and a system that cared about ethics. She has learned her lesson.

Patty Hawkins Hangs Up on Brookfield Zoo

Madeline Schoppert National Staff for American Coed stated to an individual on 8/5/2015 that “I also have a signed letter from Danielle’s teacher that works for the Brookfield Zoo that confirms her volunteer hours for an event that benefited the Brookfield Zoo (where the teacher is a volunteer).”   Brookfield Zoo was contacted immeidately after hearing this new story about Danielle's alleged volunteering.  (At this point the public has been told by Tyna (Danielle's mom) that Danielle did use the same intro, then no Danielle didn't, and that Danielle didn't mention Brookfield Zoo, (then when Tyna was given the introduction provided by one of us mothers at the pageant) her story changed to Danielle doesn't volunteer at Brookfiled Zoo but Paws, then the story changed to Danielle volunteers at Brookfield zoo at an outside event? This is ludicious!!! Will the lying ever stop?  So Sondra Katzen public relations at Brookfield Zoo investigated these new claims.  According to Sondra, Victor J. Andrew High School does NOT have any teachers that volunteer there and there is no way Danielle ever volunteered at the zoo.  At 10:12am on 8/6/2015 Sondra Katzen contacted Patty Hawkins introduced herself and Patty Hawkins the national director hung up on her.  Sondra then called us back to inform us of the unprofessional behavior of the National Director.  From Patty Hawkins behavior it is very clear that she does not want to get to the truth.

Madeline also admitted that Danielle (Miss Illinois Teen) was not part of the Class of 2015 but has a letter from her principal that she will graduate in December making her part of the Class of 2016. So at this point we all should realize that Danielle did indeed lie in her introduction about 1. volunteering at Brookfield Zoo  2. Danielle Marie Kaczanowski winning after cheating and the organizations failure to do anything has upset many people.  The Daily Herald doesn't have the resources to properly investigate this story. But it is clear to everyone that she cheated and lied.  Danielle has been asked many times to post a diploma and letters verifying she volunteered (not participated) and to date still NOTHING.  MAC is a FRAUD!  They took contestants hard earned money and put it in a liar and cheaters pocket. When Danielle was asked for proof she says she will give it, and two seconds later says she won't.

This is tragic and could have been avoided

The only people responsible for this are the directors at Miss American Coed.  This all could have been avoided.  Telling the public it is just rumors made everyone more angry. They must think we are idiots.  The evidence is compelling and it is very clear that this young lady was NOT honest.  A simple, we made a mistake would have done the trick.  Instead they sit silent. If it's just rumor.  Where is her diploma showing she graduated in May, or a letter from either organization stating she volunteered?  There are none.  We were loyal to this pageant, but the loyalty stop now.  We will find a system that truly wants the best young ladies to represent them in the nation.

I'm really glad I someone brought this to light so that I didn't put my daughter in a pageant turn a blind eye to someone cheating and lying. I really thank the heavens above that I didn't use my hard earned money to enter my daughter in such an event. My sweet little girl's heart would be broken had she lost to someone like this. Once again I am truely blessed that there are those out there who would bring such facts to the light.

Disturbing indeed

I agree that it is disturbing that this young woman lied in her introduction but I find it even more disturbing that you are going to such lengths to humiliate her. Why? I agree that the winner of MAC should be someone to look up to but you are asserting that the young lady was not deserving of her win because of some either misleading or false statements made in her intro. The fact is the content of the intro. has very little to do with scoring. I have been a pageant judge and I can tell you we score for the delivery and confidence than content. That does not make the lie okay, but overall it sounds like this girl won because she was the best throughout the pageant. My advice is to let it go. You are only making yourself look crazy.
