I have purchased many rebated items from eCost.com in the past and had no problems; therefore, I had no reservations in doing so again.

On 11/18/05 I purchased an SD card for $40 from eCost manufactured by Mach Speed. There was a $40 rebate payable in 8-12 weeks. Starting in February, I tried to make inquiries and discovered that I received a formulaic response from Mach Speed telling me that my rebate would be mailed on 2/16.

When it did not arrive by the end of November, I called eCost and received the tech support number for Mach Speed (580) 272-0035. They informed me that I had to contact their rebate center at (580) 332-8877 ex. 34. Guess what, no one ever answers that number. Indeed, all I get is a respnse that the mailbox is full and I should call back. After 20 calls and the same response, I called eCost and they told me they're not responsible.

I have purchased over $2000 worth of equipment from eCost in the past. They have lost me as a customer and hopefully the government agencies that sued CompUSA will follow suit w/ eCost.
