MacMall Rebate Ripoff! Torrance CALIFORNIA
I recently ordered an iMac computer, with Parallels installed, which had several rebates on it, including one for purchasing an all-in-one computer, one for shipping, and one for the Parallels software. No rebate forms shipped with the computer; however, the salesperson I spoke with told me that he would email those forms to me. He did not.
When I went to the MacMall site, I had to enter the order number to get the rebate forms. Having printed off all of those, I went through the usual drill: a copy of the UPC code for each item, a long form to fill out for each rebate, and separate addresses for each one; a bit more work, plus envelopes and postage. Thinking I had found the lowest price for this machine, I filled out everything and sent it all in as instructed.
After I received my rebate checks, I deposited them. Within a week, I had a returned rebate check and a "returned items" charge from my bank. That means that one of the checks bounced, and I paid my bank a fee to handle the paperwork. (My loss= $80.00)
Do not purchase a computer from MacMall. After the rebate ripoff, it will cost you more than you thought you'd be paying.

I have purchased two Apple laptops, an ipad, and a couple of ipods since I wrote the report regarding MacMall ripping me off with their stop payment on the rebate check. And, when I moved recently, I came across the paperwork that proved it.
I hope you enjoyed your purchases from MacMall. I threw away their promotional materials for a couple of years before they finally gave up. And, rather obviously, I have found other vendors for Apple products.
