Complaint Review: Royal Co Royalworlds and Royal Company.

I was hired by Will Berlin or Will Morton (I don't know which is his real name) on June 15, 2001. Will "hires" tarot readers in Los Angeles for the Madame Cleo Line. I was supposed to be working for $9/an hour. I worked for 13 hours and 37 minutes (from 6/15/01 - 6/28/01) as a GENUINE tarot reader, helping Madame Cleo's callers with their problems.

On 6/28/01, because my call average wasn't high enough (you're supposed to be able to keep people on the line for an average of twenty minutes a call which is really hard because of the first three minutes being "free" so people hang up after three minutes) -- the computer kicked me off the system.

I wasn't able to work anymore so I quit. Will told me I would receive a check within a month. It's November and I still have never been paid. I basically ended up working for free (which is really depressing).

I have tried everything. I called him, emailed him, pleaded with him and he won't pay me. He said that if he had the pennies he owes me ($120) that he would've paid me. I tried to take him to the labor board but since he signed me on as a independent contractor, I need to take him to small claims -- and I don't know what his real name is. I also tried mediation through the county -- but he never shows up and ignores all my attempts.

In addition, while I was working for him he told me to keep a nine year old boy on the line!!
