I found four unrecognized transactions that posted on my credit card account within the last week. The trasactions only identified as "TME*855-225-6459 LUCKY", "TME*855-226-0429 PEOPL", "TME*855-226-0429 WEIGH" and "TME*855-226-0430 MARIC". Upon investigating with my credit card company, I found out these were renewals of magazine subscriptions we had been receiving. This company apparently signs people up with some kind of survey and then gives free or low price subscriptions to start with. Burried somewhere in the "small print" is an agreement to automatically renew at full price. I called the numbers listed in the charge headings and was connected to an automated system that would not allow full credit cancellation unless I accepted a "special offer" of a reduced rate subscription. I researched further and came across this publication, "Ripoff Report" and found numerous complaints. One Ripoff Report included a telephone number (800-382-5210) that promised to connet to a live representative. I called and the representitive immediately agreed to cancel each subscription, but upon further questioning, admitted I would only get partial refunds. When I refused a partial credit and threatened to file fraud reports with my credit card company, the representative immediately said "there's no need to do that - I will request a full refund but you will receive each refund in two parts". I accepted that concesson, but before I hung up, I made the representative give me the exact amounts for each of the refunds. PLEASE CALL 800-382-5210 IF YOU'VE BEEN RIPPED OFF WITH THIS UNDERHANDED MAGAZINE SCAM AND DEMAND A FULL REFUND.
