The company calls and misrepresents themselves as authorized to renew magazine subscriptions, in my case the New Yorker, at a discount.

They are particualrly clever with misleading the elderly, conning them inapparently harmless and friendly conversation to authorize automatic annual renewal.

The bill informing me of the pending charge to be applied in 7 days was dated Jan 8th, postmarked Jan 14th and was received on Jan 18th, too late to do anything. 

They make it very difficult to communicate with them, days for them to call back (one never reaches a reprentatie when calling) and then they cannot locate your record, need to investigate further, no stret address to send a registered/signature letter, everything but real customer service.

This is a devious company and in my opinion one should avoid dealing them them.
