Complaint Review: Magellan GPS

Magellan GPS Navigation systems. Magellan (also known as MiTAC Digital Corporation)is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MiTAC International Corporation and promotes and sells products and services under the Magellan brand name. Magellan is headquartered in San Dimas, California. MiTAC International Corporation (MIC) was founded in 1982 with headquarters in Taiwan. MIC is a world-class technology innovator and manufacturer with over ten thousand employees worldwide and locations in the US, UK, Belgium, China and Japan. The MIC portfolio includes the Magellan, Mio and Navman GPS brands, making MIC a worldwide leader in consumer GPS products. I've now had 2 of their units die from swollen batteries. Of course, they have no idea what is causing the problem San Demas California

MagellenGPS Support Case # 468722 - Battery enlargement.  RM5250TLM is not responding.  Their response: We do apologize for the trouble. We can offer you is a Customer Loyalty Program wherein you can trade in your GPS and get a brand new unit at a 30% discount.…

Most recent: Magellan email Reference: [#1193713#]  Magellan RM9612T-LM quit working as battery swelled up and deformed case.  It's not a changeable battery as it's internal.  I got it in June 2017 to replace the previous one. 

Stay away from Magellan products as they have a battery problem that they are not addressing!
