Purchased Magic Jack October 1, 2012 for 1 year with additional package of 5 years, 100% money back guarantee if not completely satisfied, if returned within 30 days.

Did not work for me. Got cut off in conversation to Texas and had to resort to cell phone. Would be forced to buy prepaid minutes in order to call son in Montana or for him to call me. My messages weren't coming through on computer. I have LifeFone and service could be unreliable if I had an emergency - could be a matter of life or death to me.

Returned Magic Jack unit to Radio Shack in Bullhead City, AZ, and the manager returned my money. However, she refused to return the $99.95 plus $5.75 Regulatory and Compliance Expense I paid for the extra 5 year plan saying I had to get that money from Magic Jack directly because they only collect it for them. I felt since they collect it for Magic Jack they are acting as their agent and should be able to return that money also. She was nice but could not assist me in how to get that money back since she said THEY don't even have a phone number for them.

I got on the internet to Magic Jack and explained in great detail why it didn't work for me and that I had returned the unit and wanted my money back on the additional package since it was no longer of use to me. I asked what procedure to follow to get my money back. I was texted back by one of their technicians that I had to place $59 "good faith" money (refundable) on my credit card in order for them to help me! It was impossible for me to get any further because I refused to do that - I don't trust them. I called an 888 587 8220 number listed but they said they could not help me.

I am also "out" the $19.95 they charged me to keep my existing phone number ("port" it) not to mention the $31 plus they charged me when they "ported" it back to CenturyLink. I don't expect to get that money back.

I am thoroughly disgusted and don't feel I should have to go through all this. It was a very expensive mistake on my part. I trusted their ad for %100 satisfaction guaranteed - yeah, right! I feel they deliberately make it difficult to get your money back because a lot of people would just write it off and give up.
