I bought magicjack and used it for almost 3 years, I broke 4 to 6 because they are built cheap, if you bend it,it brakes. but thats not what i`m reporting about. It stopped working and they changed my account page which showed when it was time to renew, Now it don`t anymore so i renewed , But the reson i was Baned i was told IViolated our turms of service, Excessive Calls . I told her i only new one person that i called only 90 miles away. I used to call her 3 to 6 hours a day but that was at least a year ago. Now i caller her only 1 to 3 times a day, and totally calling her 1 to 3 hours a day now , and to top it off she told be its system generated - I gess a computer decides who to ban and who not to. I just wanted to tell all who read this do not buy a magicjack , I bought a year thinking that was the problem but it was not it and did get a refund , but i`m banned for life and they would not even tell me the reason except excessive calls . I did get excessive calls to the same number from the higher up person i talked to  I even have the whole conversation printed out and a copy on my hard drive . DO not buy a magicjack because they can ban you for any reason they want to. Also on there add to buy they say you can get ride of you phone co. you use now and use there1s as your main phone .

First off..you stated if you bend it..it breaks. So don't bend it.

I am not that familiar with magic jack because I only use cell phones. So I went to the website faq's and typed in the question "do I have unlimited use". It answered with a link to the terms...

"If magicJack sees excessive use, including but not limited to, a customer whose usage is twenty (20) times more than the average magicJack's customer's usage, or a customer who calls more than 50 different telephone numbers per day, or systematic or intentional misuse, it reserves the right, in our sole discretion, to terminate your use of the magicJack device and/or Software immediately..."

So they used the right according to the terms of use to terminate the account. It wasn't due to "any reason" they wanted..they gave you a specific reason as per the terms of use.

I am sure it is determined through a computerized system if someone is abusing the limits of usage. I don't think they would have a human hired just to sit there and track your minutes..be realistic.

Get a regular phone with unlimited use next time and talk all you want. Too many complaints about this magic jack anyhow..but then again there are tons of complaints about phone companies too. But the phone company does offer unlimited call plans..that is what you need apparently.
