I see this is an issue others are also having, and that they got no more help that I ddi.  The agent merely repeats the same thing over and over.

Pat Gargaetas: I am getting a message when I dial a number I have called previously that says I need to add minutes to talk to a conference line or a platform. Have no idea what either of those are. It is simply my sister's home phone.

Pat Gargaetas: What do I do? I cannot make the call.

Nancy: Does this happen to all the numbers that you call using MJ ?

Pat Gargaetas: No. I called another number and it went through. Have not tried others. This is the second time I have tried my sister's number and got this message. The first time was earlier today.

Nancy: Can I have your MJ phone number?

Pat Gargaetas: 2**-***-***7

Nancy: If you hear that message you will need to purchase prepaid minutes. This is being stated In the Terms of Service: magicjack.com/tos

Nancy: Agreement Number 4. What Is Free and What is Not:

Nancy: We may require prepaid purchase and/or we may charge you for calls to any call wherein we incur a cost from another carrier."

Pat Gargaetas: Why? I have called this number before, and there was no charge. This makes no sense.

Nancy: There are some providers who charge us in order for us to be able to connect to them

Nancy: magicJack completes calls to conference lines, platforms and certain non-ILEC area calls in conjunction with large phone carriers and these calls require a prepaid purchase. Please know that these rates are at a substantial discount to Verizon rates and the other largest carriers and are the wholesale rates of the largest carrier.

Pat Gargaetas: This is crap! I have not been charged to call this number. Why now? It defeats the whole point in having the MagicJack. This makes no sense. I am calling the SAME number!

Pat Gargaetas: You are just repeating yourself. That does not explain anything. Does not ex-plain why I cannot call the very same number I have called before with no "give us more money" nonsense.

Pat Gargaetas: This is crap, and you are not explaining anything. You are just repeating the same thing over and over. It is a home phone, a land line that has been the same for forty years!

Pat Gargaetas: Useless.
