I am just so tired of all the LIES from the Magnvox warranty people. Just once I would like to speak to an American. We had bought a 40" flat-screen TV last Black Friday. On July 31 2015 the screen just went black. From what I read, this is a common problem. Wish I had read reviews before we bought it. So, they give me a name of a local repair shop. These people were awesome. Even though a couple guys were out on vacation & they were backed-up, they offered  us the option of bringing the TV in instead of a house call which would make it faster. So around Aug 15th I get a call that Magnavox doesn't repair a shot screen, I would have to mail it back & they would send a replacement. The repair people said I would get a call & email from Magnavox when the report got to them. So I waited a few days & heard nothing, gave a call, the report hadn't been sent down from corporate office, they would call me in 2-3 days. Never happened. I called & feel if I didn't I'd still be waiting. So at this point, around Aug 20th  I'm going on a month with no TV so they tell me they will send a box and after they receive it 15-20 days later my replacement would come. I told the guy, which by now was a "supervisor", if in fact they really have any, I didn't want to wait that long, was there any other way. He told me no but I could try the extended warranty people & gave me the phone #. The last thing I asked was the box would come in 3-5 days just in case extended warranty couldn't expediate it  & he answered yes. We were leaving on vacation on Sept. 5th, so when no box arrived by Aug 29th I called & was told I declined the service. I asked for a supervisor & asked for them to play the recording of me saying that. Needless to say that didn't happen. The recordings are for "business" only. I fought with this person until he put me on hold for about 25 minutes until it reached 11pm, closing time & the call was automatially disconnected. In between all of this, I had 3-4 calls where I was put on hold, once for over an hour where they never came back. I also googled the corporate phone # & left 2 voice mails with no return calls. So the next day I called back & got a decently nice rep & she said the box would be sent out, she would expedite it.

By Sept 3rd no box. So I call again & the rep said a box was sent out which now could take 5-7 days & would make a report since boxes cant be expediated, the woman should have never told me that. All this worry since it has to be shipped back within 5 days after receiving box. Now I'm freaking since it will be on vacation time. One rep had the ba**s to ask if I had to go out of town. OK, so I had my bro-in-law come the next Tuesday to be there to sign for the box. It never came. I called again from our beach house & the guy tells me its at the Fedex in North Jersey should be there the next day. So my bro-in-law takes  another day, waits all day was gonna leave & there is the box, outside in the rain, it didn't require a signature. Anyway, I wanted to video tape us packing up the TV to show no physical damage which would void the replacement so when we got home Saturday that's what I did. I call Magnovox to let them know I had the TV packed to their requirements. The guy on the phone asks for some # on the label & tells me Fedex will pick up the box Monday from 8am-8pm. So I wait all day Monday, needing to go shopping. No food in the house since we were on vacation & have 3 young kids. About 2pm I callFedex to see if a smaller window could be given & when I gave her the tracking # she tells me I'm scheduled for Tuesday, same 12 hr window, so now I still need to shop & get mortgage to bank before a late fee. Guy finally comes around noon. I looked up tracking # to make sure it got to Ohio. It was signed for yesterday, so I call Magnavox to see if I can get some tracking # for the replacement TV & of course the answer was NO. We shall see when our new TV gets here. It better be new & not a refurbished one & I'm just praying the little bit of paint that got on the TV's cord doesn't count as physical damage.

This warranty sucks. I will never recommend them to anyone anymore. Things aren;t made like they used to be  & the out sourcing of cunstomer service just has to go. If I am sending the TV back to Ohio in the USA why the hell am I constantly speaking to customer service people from India that I can just barely understand & read off a script? Why not give some unemployed Americans those jobs? I will let you know if I ever do receive a new TV.
