My Son has a 2012 Camero with a 3.6L V6, it has 50K Miles and he has taken excellent care of it.

He recently had his check Engine Light come on, it was running rough and Misfiring. It would not go over 10 MPH. We made the mistake of taking it to Magnolia Auto Specialist, We thought it would be more cost effective than the Dealerships. Boy were we wrong.

They diagnosed that the #6 injector was stuck and recommended Replacing all 6 injectors. They said that usually When 1 injector goes out that usually all of them go out, and if we did not replace them now we would incur the labor for pulling the intake manifold several times which would be $400.00.

They told us that cleaning the injector usually does not work.

Not knowing better we allowed them to change all 6, Total was $2013.49

They charged $207.02  + Tax for each of the injectors and said this was their cost from the Dealership.

I called 3 Dealerships, Buckalew, Parkway, and Westside Chevrolet.

The price ranged from $137.50 to $141.50 for The injectors(each)

I talked to the service managers at Both parkway and Westside Chevrolet and they both admitted that 50K miles is a little premature for an injector failure, and would not recommend replacing all 6. They both said they would recommend cleaning the bad injector. They said if they cleaned the injector and it did not work properly the cost to replace 1 injector would be the difference between cleaning and Replacing. Westside Cheverolet said if I insisted on replacing all 6 injectors that the cost would be $1552.76

inclusive of tax.

I would highly recommend not using Magnolia Auto Specialist, I believe I stumbled upon their Specialty
