 On November 9,2016, I checked into the Magnuson Hotel in Calumet Park,Illinois. A little after midnight when I decided to retire for the night and get some sleep, upon turning out the lights bed bugs appeared in the bed with me. I immediately jumped up got dressed and checked my bags to make sure that I wasn't taking bed bugs home with me, and I went down to the lobby. (The other person in the room made a video of the bed bugs) I told the young woman at the front desk that my room was infested with bed bugs and " I want a refund so that I could go to another hotel". Her answer to me was that she was not authorized to give refunds and I'd have to speak to the manager, " Lydia Soto". She told me that the manager was not on the premises and I would have to contact her at another time,I insisted that she call the manager and get authorization to give me my money back so that I can check into another hotel. She refused to call Lydia Soto,telling me that it was too late at night to wake her up, my answer to her was that "it's the middle of the night for me too". Then I asked her "if the building was on fire wouldn't you call her then?" And she said that she would call 911 and not call the manager. What kind of business is this that doesn't have anyone on duty to address customer issues? (I made a video of this conversation) I postponed my flight to go and see Lydia Soto the next day after checking out of the hotel that I checked into after leaving the Magnuson Hotel, again she wasn't there. So I asked the woman at the front desk to call her on the phone, Lydia Soto told the girl that it would be several more hours before she comes to the hotel, saying that she is very busy as if my time isn't valuable as well. So I asked the young woman behind the desk to let me speak to her on the phone and Lydia Soto Refused to even speak to me. If the Department of Public Health and safety were to inspect the Magnuson Hotel's rooms and find bed bug, they will shut the entire hotel down, have all of the rooms evacuated and issue tickets for every violation, which could cost your company thousands of dollars. It appears that Lydia Soto is in need of more training in customer service,I was more angry about how she treated me than I was about the bed bugs. I work very hard to earn my money, Lydia Soto doesn't know nor does she seem to care, but I want my $81.14 refunded to me and an apology.

Learn how to spell and use paragraphs!!!!! Second - the clerk cannot give refunds so leave her out of the situation. And I do know from experience that people cannot just drop their responsibiities and run to meet your needs!! It is called using the chain of command.  Learn some patience and go through the process if you do indeed have ample evidence.

Stop demanding individuals cater to your immediate needs.  You have no idea of what this Lydia needs or how her job demands are so get a grip.  And NO I do not work for them.
