If you have car problems I say just keep on driving and find another mechanic. What was a $25 dollar oil change turned into a $500 dollar repair bill. I was driving home after getting my oil changed and noticed my car was pulling excessively to the right. The funny thing is, my car had no problems before taking it there and that I was just at Sears earlier that day and had gotten 4 new tires installed and along with an ALIGNMENT done. Turns out the people at CONMANS smashed my struts camber plates which could have explained why a 15min oil change took forever. Who knows why they did what they did. The only thing I could have think of is I might have probably pissed one of them off, because I remember leaving my Sears sales receipt in the front passenger seat.

Another incident involved my mother's car. She had hoses replaced due to leaking antifreeze. When we got the car back, the hood release cable was MAGICALLY not working. We had a big argument with them and they decided to install it for FREE if we purchased the new part. Didn't feel like arguing no more so we hesitantly agreed to it. They wanted us to buy the part from them, but decided to purchase it online instead. Bad move! A week later after installing the part they broke for free, my mom's radiator gave way and had to be replaced. By this time we had enough of them and decided to take it at a different mechanic.

Can all these be a coincidence? I think not. If you go and sit at the waiting area, you have no idea how many people sitting next to you might ask "Hey, what might cause a car to pull?", because most like there car is all of a sudden pulling for no reason. And I'm pretty sure the hood release cable stunt is there new way of doing business.

We are absolutely done with CONMAN's and have no plan on going back there for any auto service of any sort. We would rather pay a backyard mechanic who than have these dishonest mechanics mess our cars. These people really make mechanics look bad, dishonest, scam artists, frauds, _____ (fill your own word in).

I just wanted to rebut a negative report on Tireman..  I started using them a number of months ago after getting a referral from a good friend who used them for years. They have been very helpful with information, have provided very reliable work, and have given reasonable estimates on some shocks and brakes.

I had a few inspections, and they didn't even try to sell me a pair of windshield wipers. Even let me know when I can expect to need new brakes by describing the wear on the pads, but didn't push it. They corrected a problem with the tire pressure sensors, something the dealer didnt even pick up after 3 visits to the dealer. ( which is a definite safety consideration). It wasn't cheap to replace those sensors, but without their skill and timely work, My wife and I might have been involved in a serious accident.

They are OK in my book.  ..

I have been a customer of Tiremans of Mahopac for 20+ years. I have worked at a Local Shop down the street and when we couldnt fix it sent it to them for help. I have gone there plenty of times in urgent need and they have always helped me ASAP to resolve my problem.

The guy complaining is obviously just wanting to get something for nothing or has no understanding about older cars. They Break!! Hood Latches, Brake Calipers, etc.

I am sure that the mechanics at Tiremans didnt do anything to Sabotage his vehicle. They are a busy shop and do not need any help getting business.

I dont believe a word said in the original complaint and will continue to patronize Tiremans from now until whenever. Sad some people have nothing better to do than complain an look for scapegoats!

I recently brought a car I had purchased out of state to this shop.  They knew that I knew nothing about this car, or any car for that matter.  I knew upon purchase that the tires were bad.  They actually tried to find a way to save me some money by trying to replace only two.  They inspected the car and found nothing wrong...could easily have tried to scam me.  They were courteous and honest and very fairly priced.  I think the man who filed this report may have jumped to conclusions, perhaps based on all the shady outfits out there.  They COULD EASILY have ripped me off, but didn't and sold me a great set of reasonably priced tires without even charging me for looking over the car for any other problems.

Fortunately for me none of what you state is true. I've owned this company for 40 years.

I remember you a year later. Fabio came out immediately when your hood cable broke and explained it to you. You exploded at him. Your were loud, rude, and disrepectful. Hood cables break. There is only one way to open your hood and that's pull on the handle. Hood cables don't get used very often so they rust and the hood latch rusts and binds up. Not the mechanics fault. You still were not satified when we offered to put it in for free.

You state we smashed your "strut camber plates". There is no such thing. If you are referring to the strut bearing plate, it's mounted on top of the strut and is under the fender. No way to get a hammer near it. Several things cause a car to pull. Wheel alignment, Tire pressure, shifted belt in a tire, and brake calipers. Didn't you say you just got 4 tires and an alignment from Sears? Well?

You state you had hoses replaced and then the radiator went bad. What was wrong with the radiator? Was that smashed also? I think not

I think you've mixed up your car and your mothers. The cable broke on your car during an oil change not your mothers.

We fix people's cars not break them. We have for over 40 years. If we did the kind of work you state, we would have been out of business years ago.

In closing I challenge you to prove your allegations. Unlike you I state my name.
