When I initially called Jim was very nice and helpful about my request for a housecleaning before family came into town. We set an appointment for between 1 and 2PM on Saturday. The maids arrived at 2:40. They brought all of their own supplies, which was nice, and I have to say that for what they covered they did a good job. However, I requested that Jim contact me once 2 hours had passed to ensure that I didn't overspend on the appointment. When he did, he told me that they were done downstairs and could now begin the upstairs...

I wondered how in an 1,100 sqft downstairs, with 3 maids working simultaneously, they could only just now be done and not even have made it upstairs?!? Jim told me that there was a dog upstairs and the maids were afraid of it... sorry but the dog was in the backyard with me the entire time! I was in the backyard the entire time and let the maids work unsupervised. I told Jim that I observed one of the maids folding one of my kitchen towels 6 times over a 5 minute span, and doing nothing else. He told me it was my fault because it was just my perception. Sorry folks, but I could detail my entire downstairs in about an hour and a half with NO help, let along 3 maids working in tandem!!

I asked Jim if I was indeed the client? Because it should be my perception that counts right? Apparently not.He became defensive, telling me that the maids don't like to work this late on a Saturday, insinuating that he was doing me a favor by letting me receive services from his glorious business. I intended to pay with credit card, but declined since I wasn't comfortable with him having my information. I would certainly NOT RECOMMEND anyone using this company, unless you have an unlimited supply of money... patience for a complete lack of customer service... and all the time in the world. If you do... then by all means, go right ahead!

So I posted a bad review because I believed that I received poor customer service. This is a pretty common occurence, however, Jim @ Maid 2 Kleen has now gone out of his way to personally attack me because of this review in an attempt to diminish the value and credibility of said review. Take a look at what he wrote about me because of this review...

"RUDE, CRUDE, ARROGANT, CONDESCENTING showing strong sociopathic and narcissistic qualities"

These are now comments that come up when on the top 5 google results when searching for my name... Thank you Maid 2 Kleen. Jim at Maid 2 Kleen also posted my personal cell phone number and family's home address on this site. I honestly can't believe that Maid 2 Kleen or any respectable business would do this, especially coming from the owner of Maid 2 Kleen itself!!

If my review is so unbelieveable, then take a look at some other headlines about Jim @ Maid 2 Kleen and be your own judge...

Not so. I am the owner of Maid 2 Kleen.The customer is actually Justin Hurlburt at: 810 N Cobblestone St, Gilbert, AZ 85234-3682 (cell number furnished upon request). He did a complete 180 in attitude when I called at the 2 hour point (for a crew of 3) to alert him to what remained of his cleaning and the cost involved. When I told him he was at $120.00 with 40% of his home remaining to be cleaned, he became outraged, angrily said "You mean to tell me that's all they cleaned? I could clean that much myself in 1 hour, we are finished."... and started to demean the entire job. ... Here's the thing. While we can literally furnish hundreds of excellent references and will be more than happy to do so, a few times a year we run into a customer with unrealistic expectations and who views the cleanliness of their place contrary to how most people see it. In other words, their place can be covered in dust, dog hair & general "grunge" and while they honestly believe it can be cleaned 1 hour, the reality is, it may take 3 or 4 hours. ... This percepetion thing is a problem that, after 6 years in the business, I still haven't found a simple solution for. While most customers are realistic in their expectaions on a home cleaning and their perception of the cleanliness of their home... a very small percentage are very unrealistic and don't see the details that most do. An even smaller percentage become belligerent when given the facts as was the case with Mr Hurlburt. He was very nice through several communications and quite the opposite when alerted to the actual condtion of his home and the fair cost involved (his house was EXTREMELY dusty according to the 3 ladies on his cleaning crew). ... I would not recommend doing business with Mr Justin Hurlburt in any form or fashion. If you do... fasten your seat belts. ... Sidebar1: My maids misunderstood Mr Hurlburt and thought he told them that his dog was upstairs. A simple misunderstanding as, with most Phoenix area maid services, most ladies doing this kind of work have a limited knowledge of English as the overwhelming majority are hispanic and yes, they were afraid of his dog...Sidebar2: Mr Hurlburt "thinks" he could have could have cleaned his downstairs in an hour and a half by himself but, the REALITY is he couldn't (refer to what I wrote about customer perception above).. in the condition his house was in, acheiving the same quality as our crew provided, it would have taken Mr Hurlburt 5.5 to 6 hours to do...Sidebar3: Mr Hurlburt, to put it bluntly, turned out to be a very difficult person to deal with. He started out very nice but, when the reality of the cleaning didn't meet his idea of how he thought it should go (he wanted to pay $100.00 for a $200.00 cleaning)... he went balistic. Honestly folks, he totally caught us by surprise. ... Just remember, there are 2 sides to every story. Again, please read our other reviews here, in Judy's Book, Google Maps, Yellow Bot, Kudzu (Mr Hurlburt has already been there too but, there are several other reviews contrary to his) ... We stand by our commitment to quality house cleaning. We literally have hundreds of excellent references that we can furnish upon request. Just call me at 480-238-1214 and I will be happy to provide as many as you need to make a desicion. Please, call our customers. We perform over 250 cleanings a month. Our clients are from all walks of life. We clean for televison news personnel, sports stars, newspaper executives, police officers, corporate executives and the list goes on.
