Major Money & Awards Reporting Office: A Division Of C.R.S. $20 short of $2 million Las Vegas Nevada
I was interested when this morning, August 25, I saw a letter among our mail. Major Money & Awards Reporting Office had sent us a notice saying we were confirmed winners of a prize of $2,633,800 dollars.
The notice looked much more official than something from Publishers Clearing House, so I took a closer look.
There were a few small things I was automatically suspicious of. The "official" seal was blurry, for example, and was accompanied by a signature that was copied rather than the original. Another thing was that although there was "no purchase necessary," there was a "attending Reporting fee of just $20.00."
The cash prize was declared not to be from MMAR itself but from a reported individual sponsor who worked through MMAR. These sponsors were never mentioned anywhere in the notice, and neither was the contest, drawing or sweepstakes in which the money came from.
I am glad that I checked here on this website, and saw for myself that others had recieved an identical letter with an identical amount. This is definetly a scam and should be stopped.
