This helicopter company tried to pack four senior citizens that were slightly over weight  in the back seat of the helicopter, one had the shoulders of a football player.  They never made an attempt to accommodate us even though they had another helicopter that was available .They advertised comfort and safety but the headphones were not even working correctly and every one shoulders were pressed together to the point of being painful. One man stated he could not even move his arm to take a picture. When I complained about my knees being pressed against the back of the metal seat and was told  they could not do anything about it. I decided not to take the ride and exited the helicopter, I  requested my money back and was told that the owner refused after waiting for 45 minutes.

I had flown with another helicopter company before.  IT was a great experience and thought this company would have had the same high standards.

Mr.  Richard Schuman the owner of Makani Kai  was present at his facility  but refused to return anyone's money  including mine . Mr. Schuman declined to talk to any of his unhappy customers and there were several. HIs response was write a letter. Thats what you call customer no service.

Helicopter companies usually make you get on a scale so they can obtain an accurate weight. Makani Kai never asked us to step on the scales. It was also noted some of their headphones were not working correctly , Is this  following FAA policy? Makani Kai had a helicopter crash in January 2009.
