Complaint Review: Man Tran and Tyler Tran

Man Tran and Tyler Tran are criminal landlords with mental illness

I am a tenant of Man Tran for over six years, and based on what I've experienced, this landlord family should be in prison for how incompetent and criminal they are.  

I have been tortured by bed bugs for four years.  The landlords do not treat the apartment building as required by law so if they spray, the bugs just come right back.  

I had to ask six (6) times to fix the refrigerator.  It was making super loud noises that I had to unplug it at night so I could sleep.



 

They rent to noisy neighbors with super loud pets in an apartment that has no sound proofing.  I spent six months not being able to sleep because of a barking dog.  

I'm asthmatic.  The landlord knows it.  He rents to smokers and my one other neighbor sprays so much lysol that I can taste it in my mouth when I open my door to attempt to get fresh air for my lungs.  My health has spiraled down to having developed a stress related disease due to the stress of the criminal landlord and not being able to access fresh air to breath.  

I have been tortured in this apartment because of Man Tran and Tyler Tran's criminal negligence.  

Upon calling Tyler Tran to ask about neighbors living in the apartment illegally that do not live here I asked him telling him that I spoke to Man Tran about this issue a month ago and nothing is resolved.  So I asked Tyler “Is your father mentally ill?  I ask because I want to know why he does not do the things he says he is going to do.”  Man Tran always says he is going to fix things or handle neighbor disputes but he only does it about 20% of the time.



 

Tyler's explanation was “[Man] he has a million things to do”.  So I reminded Tyler of the email I sent him years ago when I mentioned a To Do list, where you write down things you need to do and cross it off when you've accomplished it.  This called him out for his lying excuse and he got mad, raised his voice yelling at me telling me that I can move out if I don't like it here.

So basically, if I don't like his criminal negligence as landlord then I should move.  It's not that he should obey the law and not be a criminal landlord. I told him, because he is verbally abusive, that this is landlord abuse.  In response he said that this is tenant abuse.  Trying to get your landlord to be in compliance with the law is “tenant abuse” according to Tyler Tran.  When called Man Tran about a neighbor smoking (keep in mind I have asthma) he yelled at me and told me if I don't like the smoke, move out.  

The Trans, as landlords, do not do any background checks on those whom they rent to.  There have been sex offenders/pedophiles living here when there are children in this apartment!  They do not manage the apartment.  There are no rules to follow so that tenants are not bothering other tenants.  They leave the tenants to fight among themselves.  And because most of the people in this apartment suffer mental illness, it is only escalates to insanity because tenants to take orders or advice from other tenants because they don't have the authority to do so.

I have begged the Trans to evict tenants that are habitually poisoning my apartment where I can't access fresh air to breath.  But he refuses.  He will evict some people in this apartment for completely bogus reasons and then those who violate the law he lets terrorize other tenants.  It is insane to live here.  

This whole situations creates a highly hostile environment between both landlord and tenant and between tenants.  I cannot have a single conversation, hardly, with another tenant that does not involve hearing a story about how the Trans are criminally negligent.  In fact, one of the residents, a 50 some year old nice lady died in her sleep.  Considering that this apartment is infested with bed bugs, that the Trans do not resolve bed bugs as established by law, and that I personally have experienced anaphylactic shock upon waking up from sleep, from being bitten by bed bugs, I have no reason to believe that this nice lady was murdered (i.e., negligent homicide) by the Trans criminal negligence.  It is horrifying to live in this apartment.  

My personal health has deteriorated due to the stress of living here to the point that I had an emergency room visit where I found I had developed a stress related disease.  I thought I was going to die.  And due to low income, being that I'm disabled, we are treated less than human by the government, like black people 200 years ago, people to just be used for someone's selfish profiteering interest, and for this reason, the government does not enforce the law and lets landlords torture and murder their tenants.  I have contacted the police and other government agencies, and they do not care one bit about the poor.   I called the police about smokers as an asthmatic and the police said they don't enforce this.  They'll come out if there's noise, but if my neighbors are trying to kill me with poison, that's legal and the police will do nothing.  

I believe the government should bar the Trans forever from being landlords.  I have determined by their behavior and choices over the years that the Trans have a personality disorder where they are disconnected from reality.  They believe whatever they want to believe.  They are agendized people where they only care about money/rent and profit and have no empathy for their tenants or their situations.  

When I first complained by Lysol man toxifying my apartment with disinfectant spray poison, he asked me, “why do you need to open your door?”  As if breathing is not a human need.  This is how disconnected the Trans are from reality.  My neighbor who was eaten by bed bugs, having showed me the marks on her body from their bites, I told Tyler Tran about her bed bug problem and he said and I quote “she's a crybaby”.  This demonstrates the Tran's mental illness, lack of empathy, where they label people derogatory names to give themselves an excuse to not comply by the law.  

I have developed Learned Helplessness, where I have been lied to so much by the Trans when they will do something I find it extremely difficult to complain to them, especially when the landlord gets hostile.  When I first moved in I had to complain about the refrigerator making super loud noises (see audio) to the point I had to unplug the refrigerator just so I could sleep. I had to ask them six times over 19 months to fix it.  The Trans are that lazy, mentally ill, and insane, that they can't fix something this bad in the apartment.  

If you are a tenant looking for an apartment, DO NOT RENT FROM MAN TRAN.  People who come into this apartment who seem sane usually move out asap.  

It will take years of living in peaceful and clean environment to be able to heal from the damages to my health because of my time living (scratch that, being tortured) in this apartment.  And for this reason, I am seeking $500,000 compensation for this torture from the landlord and the government who stands down and does not enforce the law.
