Purchased a mini pig from "Jackie" (real name Jaimie) and her partner Jolynn on Saturday October 12, 2013 at approximately 3:00pm at Jolynn's residence in Brooklyn, NY.  He passed away 32 hours later while sleeping on my chest.   I cared for this animal exactly as instructed for the short time I had him in my care.  I contacted this "breeder" immediately with this devastating information.  She has been nothing short of irrational and irate, yet i have completed what she has requested at my expense and sent him for an autopsy at Cornell University.  The autopsy report clearly states that he had passed away from a severe case of pneumonia.  Pneumonia takes a minimum 4 days to develop and potentially cause death, this autopsy report proves that i was sold a piglet that was already ill.  Despite the medical findings and documentation she requested and that i have provided she is taking no responsibility for reimbursement.  She has continuously provided me with false information, documentation and lies surrounding this matter.  She has provided me with a false name, false address, false farm,  false breeder number and has failed to provide me with his papers and any vet documentation that i have requested that i should have recieved at the time of sale.  She has emailed me with fake vaccination records that she typed up herself and refuses to give me the name of the vet that she supposedly brought him to prior to my purchase: her reasoning be that she does not want me to "bother" this vet because he gives her such great prices for all of her piglets.  She also stated that she is refusing to send me the vaccination records because she does not want me to see her real name because she does not want to deal with the headache.  I have been in contact with another customer of hers who is also going through similar issues, "Jackie" is claiming to her that the vet only provides copies of the piglets vaccination records at a charge of $300.  This is simply because there is no vet, this woman is a fraud.  i was instructed by her NOT to bring him to the vet, she claimed that he had been seen once and that a vet visit by me was un necessary.

upon inspection of the online credit card receipt I received from these women I realized they processed the transaction as "Retail Apparell".  When I made mention of this during our initial conversation regarding the death of the piglet and threatened legal action if we could not come to an agreement the response was that she would then claim to have sold me a couch and deny having sold me an animal.

It is very unfortunate that this situation has escalated this far but as an animal lover I feel it necessary to prevent these people from having the opportunity to harm any more animals or people in the future.  I  have taken legal action and intend on persuing this to the fullest extent of the law.

As i mentioned earlier in my review I have been in contact with another Manhattan Mini Pigs customer:

The piglet that the other customer recieved was supposedly from the same litter, she was told that the birthdate was 8/9/2013 and I was told 8/10/2013 which would be quite clearly impossible.  Shortly after this other womans purchase she noticed her piglet was for sale in another add posted before Manhattan Mini Pigs, the only difference was that this add was only charging $350, that was because it was a potbelly piglet not a mini pig.  Now a few days later Manhattan Mini Pigs came up with an add for the same piglet but now charging $1500.  It seems as if Manhattan Mini Pigs may be purchasing pot belly piglets and selling them off as mini pigs, this is a total scam but it brings to light why they are unable to provide any of the documentation that is required from a breeder and why they do not want to provide anyone with thier real names.
