I purchased a car from Mannys Auto Inc 2,  (2901 N Cicero Ave, Chicago, IL 60641) an affiliate of Manny Auto Inc (2050 North Cicero Avenue, Chicago, IL 60639) Mid November 2014.  No more than 48 hours after driving the vehicle off the lot did I notice a number of issues. The issues were with overall lacking power of vehicle, problems with the headlight going out after being replaced twice, issues with having warped tires, and bad suspension.  I relayed these issues to Manny Auto's owner, service manager, secretary/service clerk (Anna) and to their mechanic (Bob and Ponco).  My issues went unresolved for at least 5 weeks before Manny Auto finally offered to let me drop the vehicle off to them overnight to "repair".  I dropped the vehicle off to Manny Auto twice, overnight (about two weeks apart), hoping the knocking and lack of power issue was resolved when I went to retrieve my vehicle.

After taking the car to Manny the first time for "service", I was told [by Anna] that the radiator had been replaced; come to find out, it was the same exact radiator that was in the car when I first got it- the radiator cap was the exact same one I scratched an X into.  I relayed this to Anna.  She stated they replaced the radiator brand new.  I told her the car was still lacking power, it was knocking and that it still had small leaks from from the front end in various places - I them provided pictures of where the leaks were coming from.  I asked her how would replacing the radiator repair the loss of power in addition to taking away the sound of the knocking engine?  Her response was that there was nothing wrong with the engine and the mechanic didn't find any other problem.

No more than three weeks after I got the car (one week before my 30 day warranty expired) I told Manny that the vehicles oil was of a thick consistency, almost that of chocolate milk and was about the color of chocolate milk- which is a strong indication that the engines head gasket was bad.  I relayed this to Anna, Bob, the owner of Manny and Poncho the mechanic.  Nothing was done to properly diagnose my vehicle.

On Feb 8, 2015 at approx 8am, the vehicle began knocking much harder than normal.  The knocking proceeded intermittently getting louder and then softer for the following two days.  On Feb 10 2015, while en route to work and within a half mile from work, my vehicle began to smoke profusely and I was forced to pull it over to the shoulder of the road. The engine had momentarily caught fire and I was able to extinguish immediately.  I was told by the responding police officer and fire dept., that there was now a hole in the bottom of the oil pan and I could visibly see the cars engine oil all over the ground.  I was told the engine, "threw a rod" and the engine was no good.  I got a diagnosis that the vehicle needed a new engine recently.

Here I am now, stuck with a $12,000 balance due to the financing company, an inoperable vehicle that I was promised to be a reliable, solid vehicle.  I have tried to get CFS (Consumer Financial Services - Chicago) involved in helping to resolve this issue with Manny Auto, but have had no luck.

Manny Auto Inc is a ripoff.  They will sell you a lemon without hesitation and then ask you where's their glass of lemonade.  It appears that Manny Auto used  straight weight oil on my engine to reduce the knocking because after my first oil change (way before I had the vehicle 3k miles) the vehicles engine began to knock off and on and the power loss was greater week to week.  I would never refer anyone to Manny Auto.  Their sales tactics are horrible!  Their customer service is non existent.  Their cars are mediocre and over priced.  They will rip you off!  Don't Buy At Manny Auto Inc- Chicago!
