Truck clutch "repaired" on 11/9/05 by Manuel Dodge. Repair was for the replacement of the clutch, and a clutch kit.

On 11/13/06, the dealership was contacted and told that AGAIN the truck clutch was having the same issue as before (only much worse this time); we were only 5 days out of warranty. The Service Manger's suggested contacting our local dealership for help as an attempt to get us to go away, since he was in no way willing to offer assistance from HIS dealership. Told by dealership that since we were 5 DAYS out of warranty...too bad for us. They stated the Warranty was only for 12 months or 12,000; we were at 12 months + 5 days, and 7,600 miles.

Service defended the repair & parts and stated they install only Chrysler/Dodge factory authorized parts; which is not even the issue. Nor is the fact that the Service Manager claimed his establishment has NO control over the warranty of 12 months/12,000 miles.

When the truck was brought to the dealership in 11/05, the first thing we spoke to them about was replacement of the clutch hydraulic system. This was specifically what we suggested the problem was before it was ever tore apart and looked at. After parts were tore down and phone calls made to us from the Service Manager, we were assured that the clutch component only needed to be replaced, and that the clutch hydraulic system was NOT the problem. But now the dealership states that the hydraulics COULD have been the problem, but WE didn't ask for that to be looked at!

This entire situation could have been avoided, if only the dealership had some sort of customer service policies in place!

This dealership, Manuel Dodge, has been reported to the Better Business Bureau, as well as the Texas Attorney General Office of Texas.

It is indeed a shame for the situation to come to this; but failure of the repair, as well of the lack of customer service of Manuel Dodge (as well as Corporate Daimler Chrysler in Michigan), has left us few alternatives. It also makes us VERY wary of ever purchasing another Dodge vehicle of any make or model...in fact; we will NEVER purchase another product from this organization!
