Complaint Review: Maple Leaf Paving

In May 2005 I contracted the Maple Leaf Paving Inc to install a new driveway on my property. The contarct was clear and stated 1 year guarantee. The company applied the ashalt in August 2005 and one month after installation the surface has sunk, cracked and weeds pushed through it covering 1/3 of the total surface.

I have called Domenic, the owner of the business and his son Nick to have my driveway replaced. They have been misleading me in several phone call conversations by promissing to do the warranty work in the following spring.

I have called 7 times between April and July 2006 to have them come and re-do my driveway but there has been no collaboration on their part. I decided to send them a register letter advising that if Maple Leaf Paving won't fulfill the warranty obligation I will take legal steps including reporting them to the Services Canada, Consumer Protection Branch.

I received a phone call from the owner who promised to inspect the situation and made an appointment with me. He never showed up on the date set, insted his son come by on other date and time when I was not home.

Being tired of the games and facing the warranty expiration I reported them to Services Canada which did absolutely nothing to help me. Maple Leaf refused cooperation or make written statement.

I have now weed garden growing instead of a driveway, spent 1,500 on driveway that didn't last a month, driveway is out of warranty, and Service Canada is useless when it comes to consumer protection.

STAY AWAY from MAPLE LEAF PAVING! DON'T USE THEM unless you want to burn some money and have no product.
