My PC was experiencing all of the symptoms of a virus, on top of video card issues. I took it into a repairman I had gone to before for video card issues, and he determined that I had a virus, and recommended wiping my hard-drive and reinstalling the OS.

I did not want to pay the amount he asked, so I searched for other options, which led me to Maple Park. Maple Park said that virus removal could be done, and I agreed with their service price.

I took my PC in, paying $95 + tax up front for the virus removal service. Some time went by, and I received a phone call from Maple Park saying that a virus was not the issue, but my hard drive had failed - something I found suspicious. My first thought was that they were unable to remove the virus, and were trying to squeeze more money out of me. But I am not an expert, so I entrusted them to take care of it, agreeing to pay for a new hard drive and the service fee.

The receipt says this: "Installed new hard drive. Formatted drive, installed operating system, found and installed all device drivers for the system. System working well." The only thing done successfully was the back up of the data I had requested from my old drive. There are no up-to-date drivers installed on the system.

The worst part though, is that when I brought my system in, it was running Windows 7 Ultimate. When I booted it up after getting it back from Maple Park, it was running Windows Vista. Infuriated, I called and left a voice mail message explaining this, only to get one back stating that because I had a sticker on my system saying it was Vista certified, that is what they installed, because I had no disc for Windows 7.

I had no disc for Vista either, and  they did not contact me about installing my old OS at any point. The tone of the voicemail was pretentious and rude, as well.

My wireless adapter software will no longer install on my computer, and I am unable to update any drivers. The ATI video card drivers are not even installed on the system... My system is a useless box of components thanks to Maple Park Digital, and far worse off than it was before I brought it in.

In all, I wasted $264 on a service that was not completed, and an empty hard drive.
