I can only fully concur with what your member Susanne wrote about those Marchex web sites.

We signed up with them, based on promises of many clicks and high visibility. Result: Hundreds of $$$ in expenses, and practically zero clicks.

In hindsight, it's very interesting that upon signup an individual [who called himself "Eric"] told us they had their own internal ("highly sophisticated and very accurate") click counter and that (ARE YOU SITTING, Readers?) they were the only website in the world (!!!)
that could measure the clicks - this was around 8 months ago, in late 2007, at a time when every idiot could already set up his own CRM system with IP address identifier and counter, let alone alexa, google,
and the rest !

I told him his claim was not true, whereupon he got very arrogant and told me in as many words that I was not very knowledgeable, then connected me to a "supervisor" whose name I didn't retain. That guy
was smart enough not to insist on "Eric"'s claim but said that if we didn't get 100 unique and different clicks a week, we would get our money back with no questions asked.

Well, we signed up because we liked the way the site was designed.
Result: zero, as above. As Susanne wrote in the other article, there is not d**n way you can get through to them. And yes, we too got the "full voicemail box" message. Looks like those guys don't want to operate a large capacity box - or maybe they get so many complaints
they can't keep up with them !

Anyway, fact is we never saw money back. What a bunch of operators.

Another fact is that all these sites link to each other (I hope Google will find out about this soon and penalize them, since this is a No-No!), so that they can raise their respective Page Ranks (PRs) in the process. This is a group of, let's say very generously, highly questionable operators.

Incidentally also, the white pages page of "whiteyellowpages.com" is being data fed by none other than INTELLIUS, a bunch of certified con artists.
Intellius is owned by the infamous Naveen Jain and has other companies called 24ProtectPlus; PMIdentity; PrivacyMatter; and Valuemax who take turns at scamming and double- and triple- billing innocent customers and
are never reachable [see dozens of complaints on other web sites, too!]

I wonder what the real connection is between Marchex on the one hand, and Intellius on the other hand. Would be interesting to investigate.

Further comments on these people would be encouraged. C'mon guys, don't be shy ! The more of you speak up, the more pressure these scambags (pun intended!) will have to face.
