Be warned about Marie Atake owner of Forte Animal Rescue former Commissioner on the board of LA Animal Services who said she quit but was fired. She has emotional problems as do a lot of animal rescue people that turn on each other like a dime. She is a heavy drinker...wine is her favorite...she is often seen stumbling drunk at animal rescue fundraisers. She is on Facebook constantly whining about how she is still single and that she will never meet a man and hates dating sites...waa waa waa poor Marie.

She is constantly yelling at her volunteers and when something goes wrong she points the finger at everyone but herself. Marie doesn't do home checks when a dog is adopted and has put numerous dogs in danger...she boards dogs for long periods of time. Do not give her donations because she uses the money on her mother's medical bills. She sends emails around about others that are not nice and unflattering. Don't listen to this pathetic lonely woman. This is why she is single and will always be...she is bitter and her only forte is to be a cranky lady behind her computer sending out emails about others making mistakes but not her. Get a life Marie!!
