Marine Engine Salvage Brought my boat in to Marine Engine Salvage November-11-14 to get the lower outdrive unit rebuilt on my 400 OMC Stringer Stern Drive then two weeks later I dropped my boat in the water warmed the motor up then set the throttle back into neautral position and pushed the handle in so I can put it into gear. I went forward for like 1 second and boom I herd a loud grinding then bang. Stockton California
The boat stopped moving. I lifted up the outdrive and the prop was stuck even in neautral when I turned it by hand..oil was leaking and spilled into our drinking water. There I seen a crack with a bulge/hump. something popped out so hard from the inside out it cracked the casing. I took it back to Marine Engine Salvage since the invoice they wrote says 30 day warranty. The shop stated that they will not fix it unless I pay another $700-800. Please do not do business with these people. They will do whatever it takes to make money and keep themselves spoiled. The Lady who runs the shop has a fully restored 1969 Camaro she must have bought with money she made from ripping off people. It's because Im asian and she automatically assumes Im dumb and young.
Marine Engine Salvage rebuilt my OMC lower unit to my 400 Sterndrive and wrote on my invoice I have 30 days warranty. After I tested the boat the inner gears and shaft punched a hole from the inside out. They voided the warranty after they seen what happened. Got my invoice and warranty 11-11-14 and took it back in Dec-1-14. Today is Dec 3 2014 and I have to go pick up my boat in pieces before they may charge $25 per day storage fee. Please dont do business with these people if you are a minority because they will automatically assume your dumb.
