In late January of 2007, my husband and I sent a written request to our landlords Elizabeth "Dodie" Neff and Mark Gamber, asking for the following repairs:

- painted windows to be repaired so that they could be opened
- a hand railing to be installed alongside the full flight of steps that led from the back door of the house to the driveway
- new seals around the front and back doors, as both were very drafty
- the two garage doors, which led into the basement, which led up a flight of stairs and into our kitchen (with an indoor style door with a flimsy door lock), to have working locks place on them

Three days later we were served with an eviction notice, stating that they wished to end our lease. Because we had a month to month lease, we had no legal recourse, except to risk pleading our case as one of retaliation and illegal eviction (evicting us because we asked for repairs). After consulting with a lawyer, we decided not to risk it, because we had a two year old and a six month old depending on us. Instead, we had to act fast and find, purchase and move into a home in a six week period.

WARNING: By no means should you EVER risk dealing with these individuals!!! Time and again they have proven to myself, my family and the community they manage that they are vindictive, spiteful and retaliatory.
