Marketing 4 Sunset group took advantage of us and I beleive they are taking advantage of thousands of Americans! About one year ago my husband and I had a phone call from a man who was selling a time share in Cancun. After 2 hours on the phone with him and looking at the web site he gave us while he was on the phone; we purchased a trip. The trip was to include our choice of three hotels in Cancun and a trip to Florida, Disney World/ Daytona Beach. What was suppose to be ony $475 turned out to be $600 for the vacation.

While trying to make reservations to Cancun, the customer service person kept trying to persuade me to choose Laguna Suites. This happend 2 different times that I called to inquire about the hotels. When I finaly made the reservation, I was charged another $20 and was told there were plenty of vacancies at the Ocean Hotel, another one of their choices.

Closer to the time when we were close to travel there, I recieved a e-mail stating that we have been moved to Laguna Suites. We had no say so in the matter cuz they told us that Ocean Hotel was under construction and that the other hotels were full. So we proceeded to stay at Laguna Suites.

The Laguna Suites was a rip off! There were no microwaves, no fridge. We went to hear the Time Share talk and what was guarenteed to only be 90 min, was 5 hours of our time. They kept us there for 5 hours!! We had such a terrible time. On Nov.26, 2007, I spoke with a customer serv. person named Arturo and he told me that we would only need to go to the Time Share session in Cancun and not in Florida.

Today, December 17, 2008, I called to inquire about making reservations for my family to take the second part of the trip, Disney World, Fl. and Daytona Beach. I was told by the representative that they no longer are offering Daytona Beach. Instead they increased the number of day in Disney World. He also told me that I would be charged $20 for making a reservation and that we would need to attend another Time Share Presentation while in Florida.

At this point, I realized that my suspicion of this company being a scam was correct! I told him what the other rep told me and he said there was nothing he could do about it. This is the proceedure if I wanted to make a reservation.

We feel taken advantage of and I really would like to do something about this. I guess this is a first step.

To Whom It May Concern, in regards to this customer's comments we would like to address some of the issues she has brought up. The first thing in reference to the hotel accommodations we give customers the choice of two hotels, the one that she wanted was not available due to remodelling. She was given different options at the time of booking her dates, and accepted one of the properties that were offered to her. At no point was she led to believe that the hotel room she was to have would include a microwave, this hotel does have other amenities such as a mini refrigerator and a coffee maker. With this package the customer also has unlimited access to our 3 other sister properties with transportation included.

In reference to the presentation, which she agreed to ahead of time, we require 90minutes, however if the customer is interested in the offer and has questions it may last longer. Extra time is at the discretion of the customer and not responsibility of the travel agent.

In reference to the misunderstanding about further presentations after Cancun, the customer has been contacted, her issues have been addressed and she has now made a reservation to Florida, which leads us to believe that she is content with the services offered.
