Marketing Endeavors contacted me a few weeks ago by phone, stating that they had received my resume and wished to interview with me for their "management training program." I agreed to a preliminary interview, on campus (I'm a 4th year college senior). I should've realized that they simply yanked my e-mail address off Monster.com and then claimed that I sent it to themn, because I never made a submission. During the prelim interview, the guy basically outlined the process for becoming a manager, insisting that they specialized in "face-to-face" marketing (read: cold selling) and that I could be a manager within a year. I didn't talk much at all; I simply answered a few vague questions. I mentioned the affiliation with Cydcor and he assured me that Marketing Endeavors didn't generate any leads, that they only sell products to interested customers. I agreed to the 2nd interview. After looking up Cydcor and finding this website, I raised all kinds of questions during the confirmation of the 2nd interview. He assured me again that Marketing Endeavors didn't do any cold calling, that they weren't hiring account execs, and that I shouldn't believe the negative feedback. Ha. Upon arriving at their office at 9 A.M. in full suit & tie, I was immediately paired up with a woman and we headed downtown. She assured me that we were going to talk to an interested clients, and that today we were representing a major telecommunications company in the Southeast (I'm witholding the name). I noticed that the name & picture on her ID were false, but said nothing. When we entered the building of our client, we were summarily kicked out by the security guard at the front desk. From that point on, the woman picked buildings at random, then rode the elevator to the highest floor and solicited every business on every floor, all the way to the bottom. It was pretty embarassing. Not one of these businesses had asked for us to come (none were expecting us), and we were turned down by every one of them. After one building's worth of this, I confronted the woman. She insisted that this wasn't an account exec position (which it was), and that these businesses had requested for us to come (which they hadn't). I walked away right there on the street. Long story short, stay the hell away from these people unless you love this kind of work, or you're suffering from some addiction that you absolutely have to support (such as crack). my advice to you is not to work for any Cydcor office

I completely understand that you feel that Cydcor is a ripoff, then my advice to you is not to work for any Cydcor office. I have been a Cydcor employee for about 4 months now, my office is run by someone promoted out by the manager of Marketing Endevors and I have met the chain of command all the way up to the CEO and CFO and all of these people seem legit to me, they have never been anything but helpful and I am getting a little tired of people calling it a cult and all that garbage. Yes, some of my friends have even told me not to drink the kool-aid, but honestly, I do not feel that i'm in a cult in any way or that they've lied to me at all. Buisness is cutthroat, that's just the way it is and theres not much you can do about that. Go home and cry about it for crying out loud.

All of the people I work with have a great time and we laugh at ourselves- don't take everything so d**n seriously and live life and have fun with the job. Some people can cut it and some people can't. But honestly, until you have all the information, don't go knocking it. Some of us enjoy our jobs and I know for a fact that the owner of Marketing Endeavors is NOT a liar and would not cheat anyone- ever. Go ahead, tell me i'm brainwashed and all that stuff, honestly I don't think they could brainwash me even if they were actually trying to because first of all, it would be a total waste of their time. Not everyone makes it, that is totally true, and there's only a few people with money like Bill Gates and Donald Trump in the world too, but do you think there would be any people with money like that if people just gave up and decided to stop trying because not eveyone makes it? Of course not. If you want it bad enough bite the bullet and work hard for a while- if it works out for you, cool, if not- there ARE other places to work you know, and everyone who would rather spend time bashing cydcor or marketing endeavors or any subsidary of the company (i am excluding ds-max because i have nothing to do with them directly) should go out and look for some of those jobs instead of wallowing in your own self pity that you didn't make it work for you or whatever. Just cause you met a few bad reps doesn't man the whole company is bad.

The love of money is not righteous

JC, I must applaud Marketing Endeavours for at least having a truthful advertisement on monster. It would seem that our efforts have had some effect (there was once a day when you would never see the term "sales" in their ad). There is one part of your statement that suggests you could use another point of view, though. The training program IS hard work, and you DO get a lot out of it. However, your chance of making it to manager does not outweigh the chance that you will find yourself deep in debt when you finally decide to leave. Cydcor is a revolving door. The managers don't care who makes it out of the field as long as they've got people out on the streets every day. For every leader who does make it to manager, there are countless others who fail miserably. The worst of it all, is that those people are like yourself. They completely buy into the system, and guilt themselves everyday to tough it out; "I'm building character" "If I quit, I'll prove I can't depend on myself" or other such ridiculous ideas go through their heads. Worse than that is what happens when you DO make it to manager. My manager (now one of my best friends) was taken for a financial rollercoaster ride. He never made even close to the type of money that they sell you on in the opportunity meetings. He basically had his opportunity stripped from him for not "playing ball". I don't want to get into that, but you can find me in other threads on this topic (search YASNY) and see for yourself. The bottom line is this: your post reasserts verbatim the brainwashing that goes on in Cydcor. You have a much higher probability of failing than you do of succeeding and the manager could care less either way.

They have been nothing but righteous and upfront with me.

I am an employee at Marketing Endeavors. I have been there for about 5 months. I was not lied to from the moment I walked in too this very moment. They have been nothing but righteous and upfront with me. It is an entry-level marketing position with a lot of hard work leads to a management position. In no other business that I interviewed with or for, did I have a better job opportunity than with this company. This company has taught me a lot and if things don't work out I will take a lot away from it. Obviously this type of work is not for everybody, but the training process is excellent and proven, and we are sharp and motivated individuals. I've never heard of or seen the atmosphere that my company has. People will complain about everything, that's why this country is so great, but falsely accusations are slander!!!!
