Marlboro Miles - Phillip Morris USA ripoff experts "the check is in the mail" response from every office (incl corporate) Richmond Virginia
Years ago, when Phillip Morris, USA, first started their Marlboro Miles promotion, I collected miles from everyone I knew. I wasn't sure about the promo so I initially sent the miles reqd for one of the cheap items along with a pers chk for S&H. After 8 wks, I recd the lighter along with a larger catalog of items avail & a ltr from Marlboro Miles Div stating that it would be easier & cheaper for me if I held onto my next request until I had enough miles to cover all the items I wanted and placed a single order instead of a lot of small ones.
As instructed, I saved every mile I could and soon had enough (2500+ miles) to cover the items I wanted (nylon sweatsuit, 2 emer lights for hwy breakdowns, a duffel bag, and a 6-pk cooler). I mailed the miles, order form & pers chk for S&H. B/c it was a large pkge, I mailed everything in a bubble wrap-lined manila envelope.
After 10 wks & no pkge I called the co. to chk on the status of my order only to be tld that there was no such order in the system. I verified the address & it was correct. The operator was so rude I askd for a suprvsr who said she would put a trace on the order & I would be notified in writing of the status. I went in circles like this for 2 wks & cld the corporate office. They said they'd check on the order for me and "get back to me". I adv them I had sent order in large envelope & my papers check had been cashed & still no cooperation from PM, USA. I fought for my order over the next YEAR & got nowhere. One person told me I should have insured my order before sending it & it was my fault they didn't receive it. I eventually admitted defeat and gave up.
