To Whom It May Concern:

My husband and I purchased a dining room set with 4 chairs, back in January of 2000. At that time, we went to the store in Alexandria, Va. While we were there we selected a dining room set (Invoice Number 01190L0IWD): Dated January 19, 2000, picked up on January 22, 2000, which were 4 dinning room chairs. We also purchased a 5-year warranty on the dinning room set during the time of purchase.

At this time, one of the chairs has become defected. When I contacted Customer Service on Wednesday, December 26,200l, at 8:30 am. I was told that we did have a 5-year warranty on the 4 chairs.

When I contacted the salesman from which purchase was made, he told me we didn't have a 5-year warranty, "too bad" and hung up the phone.

I decided to write to the President of the company Mr. Neal Glickfield in Rockville, Maryland. This letter was written on January 2, 2002. And gave him basically what I have written here, except about the salesman's remark.

I asked Mr. Glickfield what were our options under this warranty, that our expectations were either: reimbursement or a new set of chairs.

On Monday, January 7.2002, I did get a call from someone named Lou who could be contacted at (301) 735-2000. I tried to contact him Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday to no avail. On Wednesday, January 9, 2002, I called Customer Service and spoke with someone by the name of Xena. She was to put a message on his desk for him to call me. It is now Friday, the 11th and I haven't heard from anyone yet.

I didn't know this would be such a hassle, especially when you have your invoice number and dates available.

Has anyone else had this experience? What was the outcome? Also, how long did it take for the matter to be resolved!
