In the chair we discussed that I wanted some blonde highlights and to cover some gray. She discussed red lowlights, saying that the red lowlights would match my skin tone. I told her that I didn't want too bold or drastic with the color and I mostly missed my blonde highlights, also I told her I wanted to keep my hair natural and healthy.

She proceeded with the red lowlight, highlights combo. After the foils were taken off she noticed a color that she did not like and called it a funky color. I immediately started to get nervous, as funky is not a good word to use when discussing one's hair color.

She proceeded with a 2-3 different toners, probably an ash color to tone down the red from the lowlights. The toners stayed on for awhile and started to irritate my scalp. After awhile I asked her to wash out the toners because my scalp was burning. She said that it needed to stay on longer, but I told her it was burning and hurting and I was not comfortable with the situation.

She requested that I stay for highlights (several times) asking me to say for further highlighting. I needed to leave, my scalp continued to burn and I felt panicky, knowing that too many chemicals have been applied to my hair and scalp resulting in scalp burn and permanent hair damage.

Hiding tears, I agreed to pay, I think the bill came to around 150.00 for the hair treatment & cut. After a couple of days I called and spoke with the manager of Haircolorxperts and asked for my money to be refunded, as my scalp continued to burn for the next 3 weeks and my hair looks horrible. My friends and my husband laugh at me, telling me that my hair doesn't look so good.

As a result, my hair is extremely damaged and I have begun to take an medication for anxiety. I went to another salons for 2nd opinions and both salons say that the hairstylist did me wrong.

I ask you to please tell hairstylists to consider a customers best interest (their hair). I went to the salon to be pampered and came out frazzled.

During the consultation with this particular client, she stated that she was ready for a change, I said "Why don't we do some "strawberry" blonde highights", she said that she was okay with that and that she just wanted it to look natural... I proceeded to highlight her hair following the normal procedure and manufactures guideline of the color processing time, approximately 20 mins.
I rinsed the color from her hair and saw that it needed to be toned a little which is very common in my line of work, because you never know what previous color may have been on the hair, MEDICATION the person may take or what kind of water the person has(ex. well water). I then proceeded to tell her that it needed to be toned. She immediately began to freak out, I tried to calm her telling her that it was common and not to worry. I put the toner on her hair and she said that it started to tingle and I asked her if it was burning her and she said "No" that it was ok.
During the toning process I stood there the whole time to make sure she was comfortable. While she was processing with the toner she started to get more ansy and then said she wanted the toner to come off, I then rinsed it out immediately and took her back to my station to complete her hair. She said she didn't like the color so, I said that we could put a few more blonde pieces in it trying to make her happy... She said no, no that's okay let's just dry it and see what it looks like.
I dried her hair and she seemed like she liked it once it was dry. She gave me a hug,she bought hair products and even left me a tip. There was no indication once her hair was dry, that she was unhappy..
A week later she called the salon and said she didn't like her hair and she wanted a refund, We asked her to come back in, so we could see her hair and try to rectify the situation, she refused to come back..
She was refunded in full, and a note of apology was sent to her and even free hair products. She proceeded to write nasty letters(3) to my employer saying that I was an incompetent employee and trying to get me fired.. and she also has posted all over the internet falsifying her experience to the extreme! Never in my 12 years of hairdressing have I ever dealt with someone like this, I am a Master Specialist and am extremely passionate about my craft. (Check out all of the POSITIVE reviews about me on citysearch). All of the negative reviews are from this same lady. There were NUMEROUS attempts to make her happy.. She has nothing better to do with her time other than defame my character. I feel that I have been a victim of a CYBER BULLY!!!
